Freeride bikes are making a come back. Its time to do a review and comparison of canyon torque, commencal clash, yeti sb165, rm slayer and other big enduro bikes (pole stamina 180).
@Jon-nz3dm4 жыл бұрын
Such a sick bike. I don't think I would worry too much about Pinkbike's freak accident with this bike. Rocky Mountain has a fantastic reputation for good reason. I wouldn't hesitate to spend money on them if I could afford to.

"63.8 is less than 64" - Well, yeah, thanks for that insight - luckily we understand why that's relevant, but it warrants discussing that. I'd happily trade about half of the 'likes' for a little bit more of how that HTA works both up and down.

Freeride has been back. Go to highland bike park and look at all the long travel 27.5 bikes. The Nomad is a freeride hero
@captaintraction40244 жыл бұрын
Not quite. You need 180mm of travel to have a proper freeride bike. The nomad is definitely an enduro bike
@paullehr3484 жыл бұрын
ask aggy how much travel is needed for freeride
@andrewgogolin18004 жыл бұрын
Captain Traction bikes with less travel have taken on rampage and all sorts of other frees ride terrain.
@kroozctrl62844 жыл бұрын
Captain Traction uhh rampage. You have aggy sending a 50ft drop on a 160mm bike. Even when rampage original started the travel was under 180mm. But it has also been over 200mm. You have dj brant doing tail whips and flat spin 360 in Utah on a 170mm clash. Sorry but your definition is faulty. And you have Yohan Borrelli go into the gnar with a commencial meta. Highland bike park, fucking skillz with Phil used a fucking hardtail on the double black jump lines.

What about pink bike breaking the frame? Did you feel anything that didn’t feel right about it?
@rpiian4 жыл бұрын
If there was an elephant in the room... it would be crushing the slayer. To bike mags credit, they rode the damn thing and made an unbiased report of it.

rpiian yeah at least they did get some time on it.
@quithollerin72764 жыл бұрын
From where I stand... having no strong feelings for either pinkbike or bike mag, someone phoned it in in the Slayer test with pinkbike. Either Rocky sent out a faulty rear triangle or the mechanics at pinkbike had over (or under) tightened the axle. You chose based in your loyalties. Either way, likely a one-off.

I have been out of MTBiking for a number of years....so would someone please enlighten me....I owned a 2001 Rocky MTN Slayer in the Alps and it was one of the toughest bikes around an somewhat heavy. It was one bad dude! So why in these new tests do they keep saying "we will see if the bike can handle these trails" or something like that. Are the new generation of Slayers not as tough as the original ones??

How did you choose the Right coil Spring. Did you Stick With the stock one?
@DOUGIECHAINSAW2 жыл бұрын
The spring chart is based on your weight. The chart for me is a 425 but I could not keep 30% sag so I moved to a 450, and then a 500

How does it climb compared to the previous Slayer?

Better. The steeper seat tube puts you in a better power position and better range on the drivetrain really made it much more efficient.
