Rod Building - COMPLETE American Flag Wrap 🦅 🐟

In this rod building video, I create an American Flag Wrap. This is a different wrap than what I have done since I use multiple threads at one time to create this wrap. The first attempt failed but the final product worked out well as you will see at the end of the video.

Looks awesome...thanks so much for sharing. It looked like you pretty much were just eyeballing the spacing when starting the initial red/white wraps as well as when you first did the blue...is that correct?

Thanks for watching! I did set up the initial spacing for the cross points but ultimately I did eyeball it to get bulk of the thread. I believe I was using 5 threads at a time for the red/white/blue.

Nice wrap. Did you space it out at 4cm apart at the beginning of the wrap?

Thanks. For the 0 degree I used 38.5mm, 39.5mm, 40.5mm, & 41.5mm. For the 180 degree, I used 38mm, 39mm, 40mm & 41mm.

What is the spacing.

Honestly, I dont remember the exact spacing. It depends on the size of the rod blank that you are using. I did use the 'Taper Offset Spacing Calculator' app on my phone to determine the spacing. Its easy to use..you just enter in the # of patterns, your butt diameter, and your top diameter. It will then give you spacing based on that.
