I just want to say his technique is singing as he's jumping up and down excessively and running across the stage is astonishing. Normally if people were doing that they would run out of breath or you hear them panting. Not with Rod Stewart though. He's singing the song but he's running all over the place and jumping up and down. I guess that's what makes him different and unique. Wow!🎉🎉🎉

43 yrs tonight 9/12/1980 watched this concert tour at the appollo in Manchester 🇬🇧 uk unbelievable memories! Cheers Rod! Seen you many times since but this concert was the dogs bollocks! Wow how fast time really goes!

This video makes me glad to be old as I am. Cause I got to witness this year live. Rod has always been great of course. In my opinion nobody is better. But this probably only thing makes me actually not hate being so old at 55 now. Was 14 first show and on this tour. Otherwise I'd never lived to see the best music performer of all time.

That's the legendary Danny Johnson...currently the lead guitarist for Steppenwolf, and former Rick Derringer (main) sideman straight outta' Shreveport, La. He's also been a prolific session player and is an extraordinary guitarist - very humble and straightforward about his talent. His former bandmate in his 70s band Axis, Vinnie Appice, went on to Black Sabbath, and...okay, okay...just let me enjoy the show!

Sorry for the late reply to your comment, Bjarne, but Danny Johnson played with Carmine's brother, VINNIE Appice, in the band Axis. (Perhaps that's how he got the gig with Rod. I think that Vinnie whispered into his brother's ear that he had a guitarist that would kick ass with Rod's band, and then they took on Danny.)
