I was doing my surgical clinical rotation in nursing school in 2005. I was observing my first surgery, relegated to a tiny stool outside the "blue zone" and told to not move but just observe. The patient had 2 inguinal hernials and as the scalpel hit the skin Rod Steward sang "The first cut is the deepest" on the surgeon's play list and I laughed out loud on my little stool in the corner. The whole surgical staff turned and looked at me and I could see their eyes crinkle around their masks.... I never did become a surgical nurse, but I'll never forget that moment.

Saw rod Stewart first time since show on Boston common ( did see him with beck at the tea party , when they recorded I feel so good and maybe I'm amazed ) recently saw him in Las Vegas , where he told my wife she had to obey the rules as security led her away from the stage , I then shouted at rod there are no rules in rock n roll , all that aside he was fantastic , he did his best tunes ( minus three button hand me down ) but still he sent shivers when he did his greats. He is probably the best voice in history for rock and the faces were definitely the most entertains. Thanks for the music, Rof
