Me too. I like most of his songs, almost all, and it was so nice the 80's ( I know he started in 70's) but the 80's are the top still are...and this singer knew how to go older very well, he really is one rare that looks super, for his age and no plastics, or not exagerated which seems to be a problem, for others. They do so many and start at such younger age, that when they reach 50 the face looks horrible instead of nice.

After my mom got diagnosed with lung cancer, I brought my gigstar karaoke machine over. She sung this song. I still have the video. She finally passed two and a half years after her diagnosis. She fought so damn hard... This video, and song I will always cherish, because I know just how many times her very ears have heard it and love it. I try to put myself in those exact moments somehow when I listen... Rip mom august 27th 1957- February 5th 2023 ❤️💜🌎🌈🙏🌙🌍

When I was pregnant with my daughter, this song always came up on the drive to work, and she would kick kick kick in the womb. When she was born, knowing then we had an hour, maybe two before she would die, we played this song to her. It’s Sophie’s song. She died of a complex heart condition in September 2020 and the line “you stole my heart and that’s what really hurts” really connects us to the song. I cry whenever this is played.

"Maggie May" is more than just another song; it holds a sentimental place in my heart. The nostalgic opening guitar riff, coupled with Rod Stewart's soulful vocals, transports me back to the carefree days of my youth. The lyrics perfectly capture the unrequited love and coming-of-age experiences that many of us can relate to. This song showcases Rod Stewart's undeniable talent. The combination of his raspy yet melodic voice, the energetic guitar solos, and the infectious rhythm creates an unforgettable listening experience. The folk-inspired melodies seamlessly blend with rock elements, making "Maggie May" a true masterpiece of musical craftsmanship.

Mom passed away in December of 2020, and my niece got married 3 weeks later. While I sat there, that song began to play. I was going through three years of hell with the wrong girlfriend in the wrong school studying all the wrong things when this song was popular. Rod Stewart never failed to pick me up out of my misery. This song is like fine wine ... just gets better with time ... what a journey with Maggie .. and just love how the journey does'n't just get cut short (like so many great songs have done) but carries the verses further with wonderful instrumental accompliment ,,, Sir Rod you really hit bulls eye with your Maggie May journey ... and it's scripted so that it is wonderfully believable ... like a movie going off in my mind ... you can really feel the young guys dilemma .. and Maggie's too !!

Us IRISH are Different born with Red Hair & Freckels & sucks most people think all IRISH are DRUNKS. It was cool to see Rolling Stones Led Zeppelin Aerosmith Alice Cooper Doobie Brothers, I even got to see David Cassidy in concert. Not gonna Lie some of 10 kids got crazy with the ALOCHOL. AN IRISH GIRL IS BEST DRINKING BUDDY A GUY COULD ASK FOR. YOU DONT SCARE ME I WAS RAISED BY AN IRISH MOTHER. EVERYBODY LOVES AN IRISH GIRL. KISS ME IM IRISH NO REALLY IM IRISH. She was partly right most people think all IRISH are DRUNKS. I think IRISH are Special born with Red Hair & Freckels. Its True REDHEADS get made fun of. Grade school the girls said my Freckels were cute on my face. Not gonna lie some of my siblings liked there Alcohol. This is funny 1 Brother thought he be in more trouble in Court cause of his IRISH name. We were 70s kids Brady Bunch, Partridge Family Leave it to Beaver. When I was a little girl visiting my grandparents, my grandpa would almost always play a Rod Stewart CD in his vehicle. This was a favorite song of mine, as well as Hot Legs (which I probably shouldn’t have been listening to as a child). I remember when my sister bought me Gasoline Alley the album for Xmas because she knew I loved anything he did. I still do.

My dad loves to tell me the stories of seeing Rod in concert. He always says that the lights would all go out, excitement would ripple through the crowd and right at “Wake up Maggie” the lights would come back on and the crowd would go crazy. And how Rod would always kick soccer balls into the audience ⚽️

These are the music times, the 60s and 70s. Other decades had some good music too, but these had it all. Especially 1964 to 1976. After that disco started, but some of it was good also. 1989-94 was great too during the CD era when everyone renewed their back catalogs and old bands made a comeback along with new talent

This was our college song. It was 1971 and my roommates and I would be hanging out at the college bars and this was the number 1 song. We loved it and it exemplified our college years. Such great memories with great friends, great times and great music 🎶. A much simpler, safer and happier time. Now over 50 years ago, where did the time go❓

@@darylhoskins5696 👍👍 awesome voice even then, but it just got better with age. Pity the "quality" of many of his old recordings (live & studio even) were not that great, even by those days standards - compare to some of the best like Led Zep. I listen with good quality IEMs and DAC amps, so I/we can tell.

This song makes me a little sad. My parents separated, i was 6 years old, and my Dad moved into this tiny little apartment while they tried to work things out. Me and my siblings and I would go see my Dad there. He was playing this song. I was so sad for my Dad, not for me, for my Dad because I wanted him home & I know he wanted to be home. I remember like it was yesterday.😢 i miss you, Dad & thanks for loving me. ~Shawn Rest Easy. 🕊☮️✌️
