Many generations later, The Eagle Clan is challenged by both an Echo and Proximus Caesar. Who captured the apes and forced them to work for him; hoping
Due to the storyline not being centered around Caesar's bloodline (I think), I couldn't fully be on board here. I get how bad that sounds, so I re-watched it to see if it was my bias getting in the way or not, and, well, I still feel the same way.
Apart from the storyline being a bit rushed in the beginning - where I would have liked more world-building and set-ups in the beginning of the world. Primarily with Eagle Clan and their ways as it somewhat plays a role later on in the movie... but, I didn't feel it to be worth it - the antagonist was weak, where we don't really see where his aspirations stem from, not being able to enjoy his role as an antagonist much. And lastly, the movie doesn't indicate much of Caesar's ideologies being forgotten or twisted because we never see Eagle Clan's or Proximus Caesar's ideologies.
Overall, this movie is a good movie - with flaws - as a standalone film or even a spinoff... but one that's a sequel or continues the storyline of Caesar... not so much. Mainly because it feels like there's a movie missing in-between
