I've listened to this many times on your channel (haven't purchased a version yet, but it's on my list) and today at work this music popped into my head (haven't listened in months) so here I am back at my personal online music library enjoying Sir Hamilton Harty thanks to Rodders. Thanks again for all your post👍

A beautiful performance of this evocative piece by Harty, who is more typically remembered as an excellent conductor.

I just love all symphonic poems and suites that you upload. They are so imaginative and visionary. I can't thank you enough for how much good music you have uploaded.

Return visit to this wonderful music! It's sort of akin to Tchaikovsky (had he been an Irishman), a stirring showpiece with contrasting orchestral textures and colours. Every moment is wonderful to listen to but I particularly like the unusual, tender quality between 7:57 and 11:39 and the "sea" evocation, 16:26-17:46.....

The Irish Regiments who fought for the French,at Fontenoy against the British! Kicked ass! Up against the guards WON but at a terrible price! Legend had it the Wild Geese souls would return to Ireland as geese. Wild Geese term applied to those who went abroad to fight as mercenaries.

The defeat of the English at Fontenoy was the fault of the Duke of Cumberland. As mercenaries, you have to remember the film of 1978 (Richard Burton, Richard Harris, Roger Moore, and Stewart Granger: a wonderful cast).
