The show you guys put on was one of the highlights of last year for me. Just wonderful. Thanks for posting!

That whole evening just blew me away. Best event of the year for me and could not have imagined the level of in-tune playing the teacher and student were to share; both displaying so much respect for one another. I recall I almost fell off my chair when this tune started! So glad you are posting this!! After the show I was too shy to approach Roddy Ellias with my appreciation for his playing-- hahaha. Thank you!!

Thank you so much Guy! 2024 was a great year musically speaking, but this was a massive highlight for me as well. Roddy always takes the music somewhere else and I love the journey.!

Cool daddy-o! Did you know Miles thought Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time was the best pop song ever? He covered it frequently. Random aside but I always thought it was a cool factoid. Happy new year!

Hey man. Happy new year! Thanks so much for checking out the video and glad you dig it. I remember hearing that about Miles liking “time after time “. I don’t blame him, it’s an awesome song. Miles was one of those guys who I really respect because he never stopped looking ahead and moving towards new things, all the while, with a sound on his instrument, no one could replicate all the way from the bebop days through tutu

@@LucasHaneman Well seeing as how I started out on trumpet as my first serious instrument you might be able to guess some of the people that loom large in my musical pantheon :)
