@@TristonSmith How can I get the same audio quality as yours? MINE is not loud enough!
@TristonSmith3 жыл бұрын
If it is not loud enough you may want to adjust the sensitivity on your recorder and set to the highest sensitivity possibly (or “low range”). Another option is to increase the audio volume in post production (like premiere pro). Try with a +8db adjustment and see how it sounds from there! Also watch your db meter. You want your vocals to sit at around -6db on the meter. Hope this helps!

Really good video Triston...I learned a few things in the first part of the video. Not sure about the second one as it sounded really heavy to me.
@TristonSmith4 жыл бұрын
Thats a great point actually. One thing I have realized since making the video is that the Rode Lavalier Go does sound a bit heavy or condensed to some people, and some even prefer the Rode Videomic Pro for this reason. The reason for this is that the sensitivity on the Rode Lavalier Go is extremely low (Since it's so close to the source) compared to the Rode Videomic Pro (And the fact that the Lavalier go is Omni Directional, and the Videomic Pro is a shotgun mic). Anyways, I'm glad the video helped!

@@einblicke-ins-jenseits No problem, make sure the mic is plugged into the red jack on the audio recorder (for mic not headphones) and the external mic sensitivity setting to the lowest possible (lav mic is right by your mouth). Hi, I just found your video and have a question: I want to do a small interview with a challenge on the streets and want to use this mic. Is the mic + my galaxy s22 that films is enough, or do you recommend like the Adobe audition you mentioned in another reacton? Or do I need to use a recorder with or without the mic? I hope you will still see this.
@TristonSmith26 күн бұрын
I would recommend getting a recorder to plug the mic into so it doesn’t have to be plugged into the phone you are filming with, since the cord isn’t very long. Is that what you are asking? 😁
@TristonSmith26 күн бұрын
Also, I’m not sure if the mic is compatible with a Galaxy S22 - Regardless, I think buying a recorder and syncing the audio in post is the best way to do it.

@TristonSmith2 жыл бұрын
From what I was seeing on the Scarlett interface was that the quarter inch would connect to the headphone jack which I don’t believe would work. So what you will have to do is buy a mini xlr to 3.5mm jack which is where you would plug in the mic. I think this would be the route based on the icons on the Scarlett interface. Please let me know your thoughts!

Watching these comparison videos all day trying to make an informed decision. All record on them all simultaneously wearing them, but none just rapidly switch between them in the same sentence post recording. Therefor we can't compare. One didn't even put on the screen what one we were listening to and kept getting side tracked throwing in different editing software while comparing (with different audio mastering). Another got stoned with his dogs before going outside and took a nap, complained about his beautiful day, and then apparently forgot he was comparing mics since he only gave us an audio sample of the one while we was outside in the wind walking with foley sounds. Despite the fact he pointed out that he was wearing all three (and he was as he filmed himself walking in the park). The only comparison was a few seconds indoors at the beginning. What is the deal with this subject and the tomfoolery? We don't get sent this stuff for free, so we rely on content creators that do get sent the stuff for free to explain the products.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for sharing! I am actually going to change my recommendation in the case that you will be using it for sounds in nature. The settings for my Rode Shotgun was +20db when Im doing normal VO in the studio. If you can learn the Mastering effect in premiere, that will help you fix the left over audio noise if there is any. @@TristonSmith or I buy wireless?
@TristonSmith2 жыл бұрын
Yes thats an option. Or you can buy a sony recorder that you can plug the mic into (works great for on the go) and that will be about $45. The recorder allows for a more solid, reliable connection and much longer battery life (record time) compared to the wireless. The time that wireless comes in handy is when you have to mic up more than one person and you would like to have all of the audio tracks already synchronized together. Please let me know if you have any more questions!

This was really helpful, thank you. Could you advise me... I'm a yoga teacher and have been using the rode wireless go. It's great, but I find that since I'm moving around it picks up clothing rustle and when I'm in forward folds, if I breathe out too much it's awful! Would the lavalier go be a softer option, or am I always going to come up against this regardless of what I use? Also, and this might sound very weird, it picks up every time I swallow, is this normal because I don't hear other people swallow and I'm getting self conscious! Thank you so much! I have no idea how it all works, so apologies for the stupid questions!
@TristonSmith3 жыл бұрын
Lavalier Mics are really sensitive, so when you lean forward it is normal for the mic to pick up on breathing sounds. The first option is to turn the microphone sensitivity down (May not pick up your voice as well), which can be done in your recorders settings, and the second option is to edit your audio after recording with a program like audacity or Adobe Audition (Keeps the audio at higher quality).

Hello Player, Thanks so stopping by the video, I will be posting new content soon! You should be able tto connect your microphone to your computer if you have a dedicated microphone jack (Look for microphone icon by thee jack), if you have one, your computer should also have a dedicated headphone jack. If you only have one headphone jack, I believe you will need to buy a splitter via amazon (Link: www.amazon.com/Headphone-Splitter-KOOPAO-Microphone-Earphones/dp/B084V3TRTV/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2C98MF5O3TNL0&keywords=mic%2Bsplitter&qid=1641931984&sprefix=mic%2Bsplitter%2Caps%2C143&sr=8-3&th=1) and this should allow you to use your microphone.
