Great product, but the most wanted feature, at least for professional usage I think is a real "parametric eq" and the possibility to route specific channels to the 4 "aux" busses. I mean it would be wonderful if you can decide what to address to each specific headphoone output as a real mixer does instead of having the program output on all of those... this is a feature that have to be implemented so far, even if you couldn't make something like aux level sends, maybe as far as it work as an analog matrix with digital controls, it would be great to be possible to mute or select only the channel you want to hear in the headphone, so you can make 4 diffrent listen for the audiance. I know it's a "radio podcasting thing" but real aux compartment with real eq is what this thing miss to be a really flagship killer in the market.

Hi there this is a very tempting upgrade from my version 1 unit. I wanted to know if it has own driver for windows? The biggest issue in multitrack recording to say studio 1 or audition, was the fact once recorded, to hear back i had to change from asio to mme in audition or asio to windows in the audio hardware sections as guessing usb taken by playout software etc due to one in via usb? So in short I want multitrack in no change to settings in DAW press play hear back. Many thanks

Thanks for answering all of this question! Regarding the the routing of specific apps onto specific faders. As far as I've understood you have only 1 routing option. For most streamers or gamers it would be really important to have 4 or better more routings options that you can really split e.g games, discord, musik etc and not having everything on only 1 fader. Thinks like the GoXLR or Elgato software are using this also. It would be perfect if you can add this later I would directly buy the rodecaster as it would be my dream device! Please rode :)

Yes, this ^. If Rodecaster Pro 2 doesn't support that I don't think it should be advertised as a device for streamers as it gives them about as much functionality as a cheapo focusrite audio interface aka plugging XLR microphone into your PC and that's it. Dual-PC streaming is a concept outdated for years already, with the launch of RTX GPUs. Definitively a dealbreaker.

I asked TomBuck (who has 3 reviews with the RCP2 in hand) “can you assign game chat, game audio, Spotify to the physical faders?” and he replied “Yep. All of the virtual channels can be made physical.” Im going to research and see how many virtual channels are available. If it’s Allows for capabilities beyond its “competition” it truly is in a class of its own. Regardless I have no intentions of returning mine. There’s still SOOO much that this product is going to be capable of doing. I’ll have a review of it as soon as I get it in hand as I plan to use it on live streams. The SMART pads share 4GB of storage. Files are stored natively in the format they are uploaded to the unit (either WAV or mp3), so total storage time will depend on the file format you choose. For WAV files, you can store around 4-6 hours of audio. For mp3 you can store up to 70 hours.

With the RØDECaster Pro II, you can do basic trimming and fading on the sounds recorded to the SMART pads, however you won't be able to perform edits to entire tracks in a streamlined way within unit itself - so use of such software is recommended.

Hey Mark, good question! You don't need a DC-USB1 for this one, it's just plug and play for a USB power bank. You just need a power bank capable of 30W USB-C PD (15V, 2A). You will get about an hour of operation per 10W/h capacity - so a high-quality battery pack will give you around ten hours of power. (Note the power drawn from the battery depends on factors including screen and LED brightness, USB connectivity and phantom power status, so actual results will vary.)

Hi. Thanks for a great video and a wonderful product, the Rødecaster Pro II. Here are ideas: - How about if a user can assign a different effects to different mic inputs? Lets say, reverb to input 1 and echo to input 2? For example. - And for my live broadcasting I would like to have a fade in/out option on the smart pad channel, where I'm playing a vamp song under when I speak. Would be nice to fade that out on f.e. 2,5 seconds. -The fade in/out option that user can assign to a smart pad is smart but not very useful (I think), It's good to have but not for streaming where the broadcaster needs to hear from USB 1 or USB 2 (or bouth) the whole time. In my case I would like to choose what I can fade in/out, whether it's one of the mic inputs or all of them, USB's or Bluetooth... or what ever channel user needs to fade in or out. How about that? :-) But thanks again for a great product :)

I had the same thought with regard to the headphone output on the front which doesn’t exist on the RCP II the way it was on the RCP I. You just have to monitor using one of the 4 outputs on the back, the way Julian is doing it in the video. That‘s a little less comfortable with the cord going around back to front of the device, but if you want and the monitoring is less quality-critical, you can also use Bluetooth headphones.

Q1: Will it be possible to add more usb input channels in the future via firmware updates? (for more software applications) Q2: Is there a way to “hard mute” a mic channel so that it won’t be passed through the multitrack pre-fader output over USB? (Or anywhere else) Q3: Is it there a way to adjust the amount of self-monitoring for a corresponding headphone output without needing to use pre-fader output as a workaround? (E.g for when gaming / streaming)
@rodemic
@rodemic 2 жыл бұрын
Q1 & Q3: These aren't something you can do at this stage, but potentially yes, they could be integrated via firmware updates.Q2: currently you can adjust your settings to be pre or post-fader over USB, however you can't hard mute a single channel as such in this way.

I have one question for me that would determine if I will purchase this device (or not)... How's the STEREO AUDIO quality on this? The previous model while it was great for Mic/Line (instrument) level, it was fairly poor on Stereo audio, killing pretty much most of the dynamics. I hope this has now been adjusted/improved in comparaison with the previous model. Thanks

Hello, my name is Leandro. I recently purchased a Rodecaster pro 2, along with 2 PodMic dynamic podcasting microphones. I have already downloaded the software. My question is this: when I connect the cable to the computer, neither the PC nor the programs recognize the PodMic microphones. Can someone help me?
@rodemic
@rodemic 9 ай бұрын
Hey Leandro- welcome to the RØDECaster! Here's the way your RØDECaster works: it takes inputs like microphones, and mixes them into an output you can use on your computer. While your computer will recognise the outputs of your RØDECaster, (such as "RØDECaster Pro II Main Stereo" and "RØDECaster Pro II Chat") the inputs, like your PodMic microphones, won't be "recognized", they will simply be mixed into outputs of your RØDECaster. Does that make sense? If you're still experiencing issues, feel free to message our support team here: rode.com/en/support/contact

Hi julian. I've got 4 NT-USB mini microphones which I use to record interviews when I'm abroad and don't want to take the rode caster pro and all the heavy mic's. But now I'm wondering if it is possible in the Rode caster pro 2 to use these 4 mic's on my laptop and assign a virtual channel to them, so I could have 4 mic's + 4 usb mic's and thus have 8 persons talking in my podcast at the same time. Thx for looking into this 🙂

You will get about an hour of operation per 10W/h capacity - so a high-quality battery pack will give you around ten hours of power.
