hahaha! i went through it myself, the circumcision, the "chewed guava leaves spit" becomes the antiseptic and spitting it on where the cut is and have to do this religiously every day until the cut is healed, etc... about a month to heal! haha! it's customary and traditional for the barrio kids especially in the provinces, that it's almost a given! it's been awhile since then, but i guess, they're still doing the "tuli" custom! i would have never guessed from the start of this episode, that in the ending of the show, circumcision or "tuli" would become part of this "cowboy" episode. a boy to become a man! very timely episode for the "tuli." :-)

That's some revelation, Daniel! "Tuli" is a "tradition" in the PH and is considered a right of passage for boys becoming men. It also has a religious bearing on it because of Faith and being a Catholic. Nowadays, there's plenty of options on how you want to do it. Still, for those less fortunate mostly in the provinces with less access to healthcare or doctors, they do it the hard and painful way! Ouch! In other countries, they make circumcision a big deal because of health, religion, cleanliness issues etc to name a few. But its all about how you brought up. Others, now, its a preference. ^_^
