Rogers music with Hart seemed to have a darker hue than his Hammerstein collaborations. But still heavenly. And speaking of heavenly RIP Rebecca Luker.

Thanks for the solidly entertaining case for the timelessness of 2 of America's greatest songwriters. The American -- nay, the world's -- songbook, would be palpably deficient sans Rodgers' and Hart's contributions. Their standards will be treasured as long as there's an appetite for good music.

What an honor and a treat to hear these legendary compositions and listen to the daughters’ remarks. I’m not sure what Balanchine would think of the new choreography. He was an innovator himself, so hopefully he would be pleased. I noticed a bit of Busby Berkeley! Oh my!The music will always be my favorite. Thank you for sharing this extraordinary experience. The performers are perfect in my opinion. Add Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops. What a brilliant evening indeed. I think Mary Testa is phenomenal. Why do I see her playing Bette Davis in film?

Glad this was posted, but it’s a Rodgers and Hart tribute

As soon as I heard Lilias singing Manhattan in the credits I thought the same thing. Still excited to watch.

It is, indeed. But did you hear the announcer at the very top say, "Rodgers and Hammerstein"?! incredible

@@loutimmons3099Astonishing no one caught that at the time! I guess we should be grateful he didn’t say, “A Tribute to Roger Rabbit!”

"to keep my love alive" isn't from 1927 but was written specifically for the 1943 revival of " Connecticut Yankee" and marks the last great song lyric by Larry Hart

I have always thought that Rogers’ and Hart’s music had more substance than the later often romantically sentimental work by Rogers and Hammerstein.

Nice to hear Rodgers and Hart songs. Turning "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" into a pajama dance was rather strange.

I thought the staging was creatively contemporary; and the "pajama" costumes Harlequin reminiscent.

Mary Rodgers seemed to like it...not everything always has to be a carbon copy of old favorites
