The way you explain things is so simplified that it makes sense no matter what you are talking about. Thanks Rod as usual.

I have put off "learning" to draw for the majority of my life. I've done doodles before but I've always been upset with the distorted proportions and out-of-whack perspective. Never, until today, have I been able to find a comprehensive "how-to" for those issues. A very close friend of mine suggested your channel and within 45 minutes of watching your tip videos for heads and bodies, I have my first full page of coherent sketches that I am actually happy to look at. While they are all still fairly rough and incomplete, I can still make sense of them and they actually make me feel excited to continue improving my art skills. I've had so many times that I've wanted to draw an idea in my head but haven't been able to translate it to paper and comissioning artwork never quite scratches the itch. Thank you Rod for doing what you do. It is indeed helpful and extremely uplifting to feel like I can actually draw by following your tips. I will be spending my free time between classes to watch more of your content for sure

Love your lessons Rod. My biggest issue is that I have a TERRIBLE habit of wanting to start my characters from the head and I have been told that it's the stupid approach. I do struggle as a result and have recently just walked away from all drawing for awhile to see if I can come back with a new mindset and approach and hopefully breaking the habit. I have been watching your anatomy tips repeatedly for a few months now hoping to get the "correct" approach embedded into my thick skull. I have always started with the head of my characters which does lead to challenges when trying to get the body in the correct position but for some reason I just cannot start with the mid section and legs even though I know its the correct approach. Anyway, thanks man for your time and effort with your video lessons. I pray that you will be assembling the key tips and techniques into book form soon.

i know that feeling, I wouldn't say it's necessarily wrong to start a character from the head, it just depends on your method and skill level I guess. But I've found myself starting with the body after digesting Rodgon's videos, and I find it more practical and comfortable now.

I really want to say thank you for taking time out of your day for teaching these lessons. I cant stress enough how great these drawing methods are. I struggled with drawing shoes, but seeing the way you drew them made me realize "Wow, I really over thought this lmao 😅 ". It's been fun relearning how to draw and I can't wait to see your other videos + future vids.

You're definitely right about that moment when the brain clicks and everything just makes sense. I've been off and on drawing for long. But when I look at your videos you explain it in a way that I wish my former teachers. Which is really knowing the shape itself and how to manipulate it which unfortunately was something that was hard to learn on my own but I made strides. I just want to say thank you with a few of your streams and videos on how fast are caught up to how my skills. And now really taking my time and understanding how to fundamentally start with my shapes and how that that can become more complex for my imagination and not looking at something brought me back to loving. And I'm in a rough part of my life right now trying to create my own car game business and your lessons help me on how to love to draw again. Passion over the blah blah.

Used to be very good at it. Got hard drives stolen with all my work 18 years ago and never touched it cause that hurt so bad. I should though. :) I’ll try it

@@RODGONTHEARTIST Wow, I didn't know... in your videos, I see the love you have for your work, and I can imagine the pain you must feel. I really enjoy watching your videos, and I recently started studying 3D modeling. I'm still quite a noob, but one thing I've been enjoying is character blocking, and when I'm studying that, your videos always come to mind. So, I thought I'd suggest you try it, because I think you'd really enjoy it hehe.
