Sometimes I feel like skateboarding in 2022 is at it's highest level. But then I get reminded with a video like this and I remember that nobody is doing stuff like this even to this day. Nobody can touch these type of manuals.

@Kر CoD There are people today who can do more stylish manuals then Rodney or Daewon. John Dilo,Gustav Tonesen come to mind right away. Sketchier spots,they catch ther tricks in a more stylish and relaxed way. But when it comes to pure combo insanisty some mortal kombat shit nobody can touch Daewon and Rodney. The ender from Daewon's part in Almost Round 3 could be an ender in every single video coming out today. But like I said,people are getting more and more stylish. That's what touches our hearts the most.

Obviously subjective, but I feel Rodney had way more trick variety than Daewon, who mostly did variations on fakie manuals. This should count more than sheer number of tricks IMO. Also, lots of people got manual flip combos, no one has Casper slide nose manuals, semi-flips or flip in flip out darkslides, esp in 2004. Daewon does get bonus points however for being the only human alive who can skate that truck setup.

No doubt the primo is a truck that few can land smoothly but Dae Won took these insanely technical tricks to gaps, rails, and transition with vert, that put him on top in my opinion. I have no reason to do this but here we are, I'm not naming the freestyle tricks like the last two videos...BUT I am going to make some small corrections on terminology cause I'm a loser. So "primo" is actually called a rail stand, they've been around since the late 60s, but primo slides are still primo slides, named after the guy who invented them Primo Desiderio. Truckstands are actually called no handed 50/50s, and there are two different types of rail stand stances (there's actually like 5 but shhhh). Heelside is when you're heels are on the same end as the griptape, and toe side is when your toes are on the same side.
@dumbdata342 жыл бұрын
s/o mr. Desiderio and thanks for the factoid
@simongunkel74572 жыл бұрын
There is an argument to be made, that only the toe-side slide with a frontside 180 pivot while sliding (and thus going to fakie) is the primo slide and all other variations should be called railslides. basically for the same reasons only BS 540 with a mute grab are McTwists.

Some of the tricks have names like Varial 3/4 heel to toe side rail (Reemo) is a rusty slide so it’s not that massive rolloff of tricks.
