What a fantastic storyline ! Genius ! The rest of the plot is even funnier when Del gets Towzer to buy the lawnmower engines to make Rodney feel better and then Rodney , the plonker, goes and buys them back !

Yeah like at the end when he goes back to buy the same scrap after Del brought it off him in secret to make him think he was a good business man. The other good one is when Del a had a double headed coin and Rodney calls tails on the bet for him.

Hah atleast Del warned em even though he was sellin em. What he was really doin was playin on the fact he knew Rodney & Micky were an inexperienced wee plonkers & makin Rodney realise his weaknesses & Del triedcl to pyt it right as sort of a learning experience for him. Classic episode.

Agreed. Rodney had the academic intelligence, but del is a survivor. He’s street wise, cunning, and thinks on his feet.

@@georgemather9082 Absolutely. If it wasn’t for Del, Rodney would have ended up in care and the family would have completely fallen apart. He’s not perfect, far from it, but his love for his little brother is undeniable.

Out of sympathy, Del asked a favour from Towser to buy the engines off Rodney, and Del gave him £200 cash to do so, on the basis that he assumed Rodney, thinking he'd done a successful deal & proved Del wrong, would come running back to him to be partners again (which he did) which meant that Del would get to see his £200 again. Unfortunately Rodney thought he was a suddenly on a roll & used the money to buy the same engines again (mistakenly thinking they were a new lot) from Alfie Flowers, who had come back into possession of them through Towser, who had been lumbered with them having done the favour for Del.
