My husband, may he rest in peace, loved this skit! One day I asked the kids whose turn to do dishes and they said,"I don't know." And my husband hollered from the livingroom, "Third base!" I burst out laughing and the kids were confused by all this. There was no Google or KZbin yet so I couldn't even begin to explain what was so funny. My husband would sometimes say he was on 3rd base and I knew he meant he didn't understand something.

I'm way too late on this one, but for anyone interested this isn't true. This bit was completely scripted and performed by a lot of comedians who all did it. When this aired there were 15-20 other well-known comics who were pissed because they couldn't do this routine on their stand up gigs anymore, since everyone had seen it on tv.
