I learned that sin falls in three different categories, the flesh, the eyes, and our pride. Knowing how the enemy is going to come at me helps me to know the scriptures I need to defend myself with. Thank you Elder, for God has used you to strengthen my armor.

The lesson is a blessing to me, it reminds us that none of us have it made. As long as Satan exists., he's going to continue to test us. The threefold temptation typifies the whole round of satanic assault on man through body, mind, and spirit. As saints, the goal is as thus: We strive to be like Jesus and past our test with flying colors. Sister Donna

This lesson really show us how to overcome any and all temptations. I love it how Jesus used scripture to fight temptations, and He passed each temptation. He also used the proper scripture for the test that He was faced with.

Praise the LORD Pastor, there is nothing like clarification of the scriptures! The new generation "saints" wish to contend that the Old Testament was for back then! Jesus went back and used the word in the Old Testament to prove his point to tempter. As God used the Children of Israel in the wilderness to try them 40 years, however 40 days with Jesus! People need to understand we need to get into and learn all of the word of God! Excellent teaching, as always! Thank you for making it clear, about the words "taking Jesus" to higher areas to be tempted. Also, "If thou be the the son... thank you for that clarification! I pray that you and the First Lady have a safe trip to Phoenix. Be Bless! From Indiana District #4

What a powerful lesson you have taught. I can definitely say that you taught this lesson under the unctioning of the Holy Spirit. Thanks for including 1 John 2:16 in the lesson extensively. It definitely helps to give more insight to the temptation Jesus was facing. Also how we can look at these three categories and see when the enemy comes where he is tempting us. So that we don’t fall. Because as you said God said in his word we are not ignorant of his tactics. Studying this lesson and those three categories of temptations in the world will definitely prepare us when he comes. Thanks for bringing more light to this lesson. May The LORD God continue to richly bless you, your family and your ministry.

Thanks for your work and service. Prayers for your strength as you follow the Lord's path for you. I so look forward to your lessons as I prepare for service during the week. I also have a way to look at temptation. 3 fold ways we are tempted 1 by the Devil, 2 by the World, and 3 by our own human self. As we combat all three we must follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ and use God's Word. Our understanding and logic is but foolishness in the light if the Word, our ways are not his ways on our own, and we must seek him for forgiveness and peace before we can make any kind of peace in the World. Look for your thoughts again next week, safe travels and Godspeed on your journey

I was meditating on this lesson after you taught this lesson using I John 2:16. I saw that the tempter was tempting Jesus with the pride of life temptation when he told him to cast himself down form the mountain and his father would send Angels to uphold him. This sin of pride of life is the one that causes us to have an arrogant attitude of what about me, I deserve this and how dare you do this to me. This is the temptation or sin that causes us not to be able to forgive others because we have that attitude of I am so and so and how dare you do this to me. That’s why the tempter came with this one saying to Jesus since you are the Son of God your Father would save you. Jesus had to stand up under all the temptations and this pride of life would have definitely not allowed him to be able to go to cross because he would have called for his angels to rescue him when they came to get him in the garden. Also he would not have said Father forgive them on the cross for they know not what they do. Because he would have said how dare they do this to me I am the Son of God. But thank God as Philippians 2:7-8 says But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. I pray that this lesson will motivate and help us to all be aware of what is lingering behind those temptations. That’s It’s not just a one time thing when we fall prey to those temptations. But the enemy wants us to continually disobey God and fall into one of those sinful categories so it can developed those types of behaviors that forfeit God from using us, prohibits us from being a light in the world and hinders God blessings in our lives. Thanks for teaching such an revelatory inspirational lesson.
@RodneyJonesTeachings5 жыл бұрын
You know I so agree with you, many say “Lord why me” and really sometimes what we are saying is “Lord why not them”. This pride of life as you so wonderfully put it, is a killer. Lives are destroyed, and family are broken up because of the pride of life, we refuse to forgive because of pride, not knowing that the scriptures commands us to forgive. Jesus was a perfect example of how we should approach each and every temptation. Thank you so much for your comments, you just gave me more wood to put on this fire! Love it.

Greetings and great question, there is so much rising up in this day and time. The bible talks about the 5-fold ministry as we call it. Apostle is one of the 5, but there is a great emphasis on apostle and it does not look like the scripture has it. Something is not right.
@darrellbarnes11715 жыл бұрын
God bless pastor. I enjoyed your teaching. As i studied the temptation of Jesus, from Matthew, Mark, and Luke. My understanding of Mark and Luke is that Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Spirit and then tempted by the devil. Matthew says, He was led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. I believe Jesus want into the wilderness by the guidance of the Holy Spirit to fast and fellowship with the Father. During that time, Matthew says after fasting forty days and nights the tempter came. Many times during my fast the devil doesn't tempt me at the beginning of my fast, but once i get well into the fast he wants to start tempting me. He does it so i can break fellowship with the Father. I believe he wanted Jesus to do the same. Thank you pastor for being faithful to the call of our Father (God) for your life.

Thanks for another great lessons and I pray for you and your wife as you make this short journey. I had a question that I was trying to find out, I know that Jesus had half brothers and sisters, but I was trying to find out how many. I see where it states he had four half brothers and two half sister, but then I saw it written someone where else where he had six half brothers. I was wondering if you perhaps know this answer and if it is told in the bible anywhere? Thank you

Jesus was hungry because of his fasting and Satan saw an opportunity to tempt Jesus to embrace his frail humanity by using his authority as the Son of God to satisfy his hunger. While It was a subtle suggestion, it was also a tactic to get Jesus to focus on self-preservation. Satan was trying to program Jesus to focus on preserving his life. If Satan had been successful, Jesus may have decided not to die for our sins..

@RodneyJonesTeachings5 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question notice the small G on the word of God when it deals with the devil he is still the god of this world that is the unregenerate world those who refuse to follow God. 2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV [4] In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
