Very good video. But while you should round down for the max shim size (as you stated), you should round up for the min shim size. The min shim size would be 2.95 mm in your example. Rounding down would give you 2.9 mm which would result in 0.34 mm clearance which is out of spec. Rounding up gives you 0.29 mm clearance which is in spec.
