It's origin is Cordoba province, and at first it was a low class genre, despised by the high and middle classes until de 90's when started to be more popular thanks to two artists: La Mona Jimenez at first and then Rodrigo. About Rodrigo dressed as a boxer: that was in a concert in the Luna Park Stadium in Buenos Aires, very famous because the most important boxing fights take place there. El CUARTETO (originalmente tocada con 4 instrumentos piano, contrabajo, acordeon y violin) y surge de la mezcla del "paso doble" y la "tarantela". En sus comienzos a finales de los 60. Luego en los 90 se añadieron instrumentos de percucion y viento y se mezclo mas con el merengue la cumbia. Rodrigo murio ese año tragicamente en un accidente automovilistico y fue quien popularizo el cuartero en Buenos Aires. Esas grabaciones en Shorts fueron hechas en el estadio Luna Park (emblematico lugar de foxeo en Bs As). Fueron 13 noches a estadio completo. El Cuartero es muy popular en Cordoba y antes de la pandemia todos los fines de semana miles de personas asisten a bailar a clubes donde tocan bandas de cuarteto. Impoertante acotar, que el cuarteto es una invencion cordobesa, con influencias de paso doble y de tarantela y que los creadores eran de origen italiano, alla cerca de los 50s, apellidos como Marzano, Gelfo, Bevilacqua, Bosio...fueron los fundadores del cuarteto, todos de ese origen. A little colour culture fact: La mano de dios was a great relief for us because we beat England and although it sounds stupid we feel as if it had been the revenge of the war of the Islas Malvinas, I know that it cannot be compared for all the lives that were lost but it was a sublime moment, especially because after that goal, Diego scored the most beautiful goal of all the World Cups edition, drivling all the English players. And Rodrigo was popular music called Cuarteto and I remember when I was 13 years old in the 90's it was so popular and all the girls dead for him.i gave a cover folder with a image of Rodrigo to a girl 2 years older than me on the school but it didn't work xd she never paid attention to me xD.
