Obviously you are a good dad and would lay your life on the line for them. Not all single dads have as good of success in bringing them up. I'm not a parent but I feel single dads don't get get the recognition they deserve.

Few people comprehend how deep a parent's love is. God is described as our "Heavenly Father". As a Father of four, I understand only a fraction of His love. If my love is this strong as an imperfect man, how much more a heavenly Father with perfect love and affection. His love is so great, He sent His son to rescue us and the only way to be truly forever young. ❤

I lost a dear sweet friend in college following a car accident. At her funeral the priest used these lyrics in his sermon to talk about her as she is "Forever Young", and she was very kind and giving, so this is what she wished for us all. I think of her every time I hear this song. God keep you in His loving arms Judy-miss you!

My dad died 18 years ago at 37 when I was 3 years old,I don’t remember him at all. His favorite singer was Rod and, thanks to him,my mom became a fan too so I grew up with Rod’s music. This song is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time because I think about the moments I couldn’t share with him and although my mom gave me everything there’s a “hole” that nobody can replace or complete. It’s been a while since cancer took his life but as I get older,it hurts more.

@@jameshama Hello! Well, fortunately I’m okay. Of course I miss him every day and I always think about him too, it’s hard sometimes because I wish I could see him or talk to him as everything I know about my dad is because of my mom. It’s a weird feeling really, when I see pictures of him I feel so sad and can’t help crying but at the same time he’s like a stranger to me because I don’t know him basically. It would be our last “date” ever. She was in a great deal of pain and had a feeding tube but I could tell that she really enjoyed Rod’s (and Stevie Nick’s) performance. Oh my gosh...these comments. They’re all filled with so much love n a haunting sadness...so heartfelt. It’s the kind of sadness that you can only feel bc you loved the person so much. I hope that whoever reads this is having a nice day and if you’re sad, that you will have a better day ❤️ This song was a hit when I was in the 6th grade..I’m now 45 and for some reason, I was yearning to hear the words ...they mean so much more now than how it made you feel, during your days of youth. I realize more than ever how life goes by so quickly n that our children grow up even quicker, n that sadly, our parents are getting “old”... Much love and healing to everyone who’s here bc they’re missing someone they loved ❤️

We lost my dad over ten years ago. One gem of wisdom he told me while raising his finger to his forehead, he said “staying young up here is the easy part, but it’s the most important part.” He meant it. As a teenager, our house was the place all my friends wanted to hang out because my dad did the same stuff we did; he was one of the biggest kids I knew and we loved him for it. As long as he was physically able, he hiked with us in the woods teaching us the names of the trees along the way. Sadly his old body gave out, but he was always “forever young”. My brothers and I have all chosen different paths in life, but one thing we all have in common is our inherited love for life. I feel bad for the people who grow old before their time mentally. I’m in my 60s now but my wife says she still has one kid at home…one big one, but she wouldn’t want me any other way.

Some songs you hear when they first come out and you like them, but, they're mainly just a song played over & over again on the radio. Then, years later, you hear it again and you can't believe how much more meaningful it is. Some songs, like wine, improve with age or maybe it's our own maturity that improves the song. Either way, Forever Young is one of the best songs ever written. Thank you, Rod Stewart.

In fact, this is the perfect song and a healing one......for both parent/s and son / daughter who are going though a rough phase in communicating with each other. For 10 years I fought with God to have a baby. When I finally told God I am done begging and tried to walk away, I was informed one month later that I am expecting. This song I have played every day for my beautiful baby boy. It became our song. When we fought about life and whatever came our way, we would play this song to each other. Now my son, Logan, is getting married in October 2023, 33 years later and this is our choice for our Mother & Son dance. Thank you Mr Stewart for us to have this and God bless.

Mike Dressel..yes this is how I think too. I know the loss of my loved ones wouldn't want me to be forlourned. Also we will b altogether again. Change isn't always easy. Its sites like this one where we all connect and in spirit we understand which is ever so important ..not to feel alone or lost. After darkness the light follows. Just hang on. Better days really are meant to b a part of all changes. Just don't give up. Remember a "frown is a smile turned upside down". (Ha that's a gud sing too) stay well everyone!!!!

My heart goes out to you. I feel you, and I can understand you miss her so well. The only comfort I can give is to say that the missing stays, but in time you are going to cherish the warm memories you made together. They will comfort you and help you get back on track, by taking baby steps and living one day at the time. Two years ago I lost the love of my life, after being together for over 40 years. I was totally devastated, felt so cold and empty. Never expected to be a widow at 64. Now, 2 years further on the track, I can say life had its way of healing. Music and memories were my greatest comfort, next to my children ofcourse, and my grandchildren. I hope you have some great people around you to comfort you. Dear Dan, I hope that you have some good people around you and I wish you all that is good in this world.

I love this song because it was fashionable when I was 12 or 13 years old and I told myself that I would always be young and cheerful as long as I lived. Today I'm 49 years old and I still think that way 😜 This song has always been an icon in my life.!!! I like being Forever Young.!! And that's the attitude we should have for the rest of our lives !!!. 😍 Greetings from Venezuela 🇻🇪.

@Redwood Rebelgirl it's still hurts..a lot. Every month on the 19 at 1:10 pm I thank her for giving me life..now she's gone. I cant help but look at the clock on these days and remember her and cry. I've set up a ofrenda in my house so she can be with her brothers and father. October I light candles and set out fresh marigolds so they can visit. It's a Mexican holiday..Dia de los muertos. Since she passed away at our house in Ensenada I have brought this to my home. I see her everyday and I smile. I try my hardest to live up to what she asked of me. "Be kind and loving. Dont cry for me but celebrate me." So I do the best I can. Thank you for listening and your thoughts. With much love Leroy.

I played this song for my children, when they graduated high school. I also chose it for the mother and son dance, at my son’s wedding. I now would dedicate this one to my dearest Kimberly Dawn Castro. You weren’t my daughter, but I loved you as my own. And each time I hear it, I will remember you. And my own as they grow and learn, and walk through their own life. I thank God for having known you. You are missed. You are loved. And will always be For Ever Young. You fly high as you want to now. Fly sweet Kim, fly with the angels, and all of Gods Heavenly Host. You are free at last. With much love. April
