Yea in hindsight I should have held onto the mistresses and dirty rats-I was just trying to dig hard for cataclysm and mechathun and didn’t hit either until the end so they weren’t discounted

I don't think that was warranted. Zeph has a lot of weird inconsistencies, but I would expect him to offer Hex against that board state 100% of the time.

I hand crafted a deck similar to this during the Descent of Dragons meta, it was a Highlander Paladin and it got me to legend for the first time. It was my piece de resistance, I was very proud of it.

That’s always the rule of thumb: your disruption cards never hits their mark, but the opponents snipes every time. Hell I was playing ramp quest preist and the rouge not only deviant delighted my quest reward xyrella, but he also parley’d my misshfin prime (that I soul mirrored from his reconnaissance)

I've only gotten my Rokkara Ratted once. I knew instantly I wasn't in the headspace to play Hearthstone at the time and took a break right after that match. Which sucked because I was playing hearthstone because I wasn't in the headspace for anything else. Was not a great day.

Zeph is iffy on certain cards only when there is no options for lethal. Zeph is specifically programmed to always offer lethal whenever any of the classic cards can get you lethal. The only exceptions to this have already been patched. Mana remaining only matters when you don’t have lethal

Yeah he knows this, but it still could offer other 4 mana cards besides hex or poly. That's why he was relived because it correctly offered hex, if there were other variables he could have jumped to those like holy nova or something dumb like that, which I've seen zeph do plenty of times even when leaving the correct mana remaining for a specific card that is not a lethal.

Honestly, if I had to guess, any kind of OTK or Combo deck that happens to be lucky enough to not lose a major piece to a Dirty Rat or Mutanus, or something with a more powerful late game, or clearer win condition. Cause Aggro it can potentially survive against (unless it's some insane Hyper Aggro, with a lucky early hand that you can't deal with immediately), and if Control doesn't have a proper win Condition, then this deck wins vs them. But, like, Priest with Quest could be troublesome if you don't get Xyrella with Dirty Rat or Mutanus, and I suppose it will probably lose vs Jade Druid in the long run, because no Skulking Geist.

I'd say decks that can keep up with the value like other Reno decks, (Warlock and Mage, especially). Some versions of Burn Shaman might be a pain to deal with as well, since their combo pieces are quite hard to Rat out, and played a lot earlier than Mutanus becomes available.

I'm pretty sure it's mill rogue as it doesn't care too much about mutanus&your HP total; also deals amazingly with huge alextraza&n'zoth boards as it has 3 aoe's and 2 shadows..

Why people are so mad at mercenaries or duels? They are different modes that are fun for some people. If you dont like it you dont have to play it. I consider them as different games almost, especially the mercenaries. Anyway, nice deck. Always appreciate highlander decks: :D Also I was playing against such a pirate warrior with my deathrattle priest. Since i came back to the game after 1 year i dont have perfect decks for many of the classes despite for the first time destroying old useless legos and epics to craft a few key cards. Ofc i dont know all the deck variations still and i lost because i didnt expect a pirate warrior to run freaking brawl which ofc he had his minion survived. Next pirate warrior i played, I was way more careful with my resources and at the time he would take 1 fatique, leaving him with 2 hp plus the 2 armour he could get from hero power, 4 total I would kill him with my xyrella's 5 dmg hero power, but then ofc the warrior had the 5/5 minion that gives him 5 armour. and i freaking lost

I think carier would have been balanced if she didnt have this little bit of text that says " your hero takes half the damage". Like its so insane u literaly need to take her to fatique to win on top of libram paladin being s tier deck. Imagine brukhan can chose from 4 hero powers that only one is usefull and depend on rng to get good one. But hey heartstone was always like fuck shaman since they gave us 7/7 4 mana.

It should reduce damage by one for every hit. That way it is still good against smorc with a bunch of small minions that only have 2 or 3 attack, but it should not do much vs control decks and big minions.

It seems that way, but when you think about how the weapon practically functions in a deck it's not that op. Halving all incoming damage is REALLY good, no doubt, but Cariel costs 7 mana to play and Paladin doesn't have a ton of mana cheat options. So that means more often than not you're playing it on turns 6 or 7, at which point a 2 attack weapon isn't super useful as an offensive option. It allows you to stall out games, but it doesn't help you reclaim the board or gain much in the way of tempo. You can even see in the first game against the pirate to see this point illustrated. Even with the Cariel weapon, which should counter an aggro deck hard, Roffle still needed a ton of value to kill them. Obv Pirate Warrior is a special kind of BS, but the point stands that playing Cariel isn't powerful enough to win games on her own. She buys you more time to reach your endgame, but without significant support she won't swing the game in your favor.
