Update to the 319 bios and you’ll be able to run Portal 1 at 120fps at 10w. Legit was amazed how massive of a performance increase I got from the new bios update. Before, 10w was causing stuttering, but now it’s running most games flawlessly. At 10w!

Returned mine twice already, first day the left joystick stopped working, about a 5 days ago the micro sd slot caused a short on the mother board and also damaged my expensive SD card. I'm returning it and getting my money back. Update: Bestbuy replaced my SD, gotta give it to them they have good customer service. I will buy the ROG again once they've addressed the issues with the hardware. I know the software will get there eventually. For now content with my steam deck.

I’ve had mine since day 1 no issues. It seems like some people got some duds which is interesting. I love my ally and it’s a perfect solution for me. Hell I even carry it around sometimes for work incase I need to use a piece of a software that we use that requires the Desktop version of Chrome.

Quick tip for any handheld gaming: just cap the FPS to 40, trust me. Its not as bad as 30, but only slightly worse than 60. And it wont eat through battery like 60 and 120 would.

Speaking from my own experience mine never went above 80-85 degrees Celsius on more intense games. Generally it's been hanging around 70-80 degrees during gaming and the Heat doesn't affect the experience in your hands.

The biggest downside for the Ally is the best part about the Deck. The Ally performs much better than the Deck at regular tdp with similar battery life, but at low tdp, the Deck is unbeatable for the performance. You can have a game looking good and save alot of battery life. That and the Decks buttons are better

Here's a fact for you people looking for a portable, The technology in every aspect besides battery life is available to build a proper portable nowadays, The only thing holding them back is the battery life so unless you see a new portable come out where it's selling point is a new type of fancy battery with extra life I wouldn't bother wasting your time and money. Cloud gaming is a real thing and to be honest wherever it is you're going to play your portable gaming station there's a 98% chance that you're going to have access to Wi-Fi that being said a old phone with a controller set up will be a better option.

Tbh I seriously don’t get these handheld pc gaming devices. They are really expensive in many countries, are really bulky and you get low battery life(I mean what do u expect, it’s a small device). You can just save a little more money and buy a gaming laptop which has better display, more power, more battery life and u can bring it anywhere with you and also do all your work from it. Nintendo switch is the only exception because that has a dock which can connect to the tv, making it more unique. Tbh, PSP was the perfect handheld console.

ngl one of the biggest problems is the cheap thumb sticks they used, they’re super finicky and don’t have much resistance
