I'm very pleased, in an odd way, to hear Roger say that his favorite part of Blade Runner is the improvised line of "Tears in Rain" made by Rutger. That line has nearly made me cry, and knowing it was essentially made over dinner hours before shooting is so special to the creation of the entire project. I thought I was being too gushy over the significance of that scene's production, but it is truly wonderful.

Eleanor Rigby that's because Ridley Scott's most trust DP Jordan Cronenworth was seriously ill in the making of the first one and died a couple years after the film was released..I'm sure Roger would've been asked to work on it since he shot the wonderful 1984
@DirByHasan8 жыл бұрын
***** yeah that caused a lot of issues between Ridley and his Crew BECAUSE he wanted to control the camera and the look. Good thing Denis is in charge of the film with Ridley producing

This Man deserves an Oscar for his incredible and brilliant and beautiful cinematography. He has been nominated for best Cinematographer 12 times now at the Academy Awards, and he has never won! I hope that this year (2015) is his year, especially for "Sicario" which was so incredibly shot by Mr. Roger Deakins.

You can't hook a microphone up to the guy and get clean audio? I would be falling over myself to acquire a wireless or lav mic of some kind (or a boom operator) if I knew I was going to interview Roger Deakins. Unbelievable!

He did that same thing in the video I just watched with the new Blade Runner director! Yeah, that's lame. If you are on limited time, you tell the interviewee before-hand that you've got 5 minutes, then DON'T force the end of the interview on camera! You simply say "thank you very much for your time" and end it.

Its a press junket, so you have an alloted time with the talent. There are scores of interviewers milling around outside waiting to ask exactly the same questions.
@shill14446 жыл бұрын
Stelios Wolfgang - I'm sure you all figured it out by now. Its never that the interviewer has to go but its the interviewee with limited time at the junket. They only get a few minutes before someone puts them out and the next one comes in.

It's always interesting to listen to Roger Deakins talking about his way of working. But, please, stop using the automatic mode on your camera (especially when you're speaking with a DP!). It's really boring to see the exposition moving each time Roger Deakins moves his hands in front of the camera!
