I feel bad for how Siskel and Ebert went out early and both with serious health issues. They were both funny and intelligent guys. They were a great combo with great chemistry. I always enjoyed watching Siskel and Ebert's reviews even if I disagreed with them. Ebert was a terrific writer too.

Man this is tough to watch, especially since I used to watch “At The Movies” all the time, it’s almost hard to believe that’s Roger Ebert in this interview. Some of you people who visit KZbin are SO mean spirited and narrow minded! Go through the same thing that this man went through and see how quickly your opinion changes! And who cares what his computer voice sounds like? The mere fact that he could communicate with us at all is a miracle! And for someone on here to say "Good. I'm glad he's dead." is just pathetic. I could understand someone saying that about someone such as Hitler or Hussein, but a film critic? This is America and we have freedom of speech! I seriously doubt that Roger Ebert was as callous as the person who made that comment, and you know who you are.

I love seeing all the no profile Boomers getting super upset over a man who was just trying to celebrate his life and love of Cinema in his own way. Sometimes it is hard to be a Critic and say your own harsh opinions while being thrusted forward held by contention from those around you. May this man rest in peace and bless his heart for doing what he loved, unlike most of you in the comments who could never have the will or mindset to set forth and do yourself...

It's terrifying, honestly. I hope he didn't suffer too much before he died. I don't understand why so many people leave such hateful, crude comments on videos about this. Alot of people crying because of what he said about Ryan Dunn from Jackass. But personally, i think if someone has no respect for someone that drink drives and not only that but speeds his vehicle to over 130mph in a 55mph zone, killing himself and the passenger aswell as endangering the lives of countless others in the process (men women and children, any of which and any number of which could have been another car or many other cars that could potentially been struck in the situation) then I think that's a fair enough stance to take. Fans and family may think differently. Every other rational person with no connection to him will probably think otherwise. That's the thing with sympathy. You don't actually owe it to anyone.

To all the haterish commentors here - obviously you have yet to experience any hardship, illness, or loss in life. I have watched family members expire, suffer from terminal illness, etc. He kept himself dignified and optimistic until the end. If and when you end up.with a physical ailment, I hope you find it in you to do the same, and that there is someone by your side to help you - trust me I have seen it - when things get rough, the room clears out and you may very well find yourself suffering alone.

While a lot of us, I assume, could not stand the person he was, or even agreed with him as a movie critic. When Gene passed away, that was when he should have gone a different way, in my opinion. Gene, in my opinion, was way better. May God comfort your family Ebert always.

If you look at the review Siskel and Ebert did for "I Know What You Did Last Summer" or "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" I forget which. Him and Siskel explain why they do what they do.Unfortunately I don't see the review on the internet anymore. Movie criticism is important. There are few things I hate more then wasting 2 hours of my life at a garbage movie. I've also lost my love of movies in recent years and I attribute that partly to Roger Ebert's death. I'd personally chose death over jaw removal. Plus there is no guarantee that surgery would even work like in his case he still died a year later. He lost the ability to eat speak taste. And become disfigured. Death is definitely better than that

Is funny how he can't speak giving the fact that his work was criticized , I mean is his fucking job, but can't help thinking how many young directors kill by his critics, anyway somebody has to do the dirty work...Roger thank you man you probably save me time on what watch

Truth is.... He was a film critic, Freedom of speech aside, some things remain better un-said. Not a good critic either seeming as he runs down some pretty good comedies. Thats just fucking with another mans money....

Illewithskill who's to say if a movie is good or bad you fucking idiot? That's the point, that just because you or he likes or doesn't like a movie, doesn't mean its good or bad, it's simply opinion. He was a critic who gave his opinions and more often than not they were in depth and articulate. Dumbass
