The first I heard of this instrument was a mislabeled amazon listing. I was searching for digital recorders, and this doodad was listed as a Ferrofish B4000+ -digital personal recorder. There was next to no info in the listing, so I came to YT and found this video. Amazing! I've not been tempted to play organ until stumbling in here. Mr. Smith, you do a fine job showing off the B4000!

Seems very amazing- do the drawbars and knobs send real-time MIDI for recording movements?
@sweetwater3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Greg! Thanks for the interest. That's a really good question. You can control just about every parameter on the B4000+ from an external MIDI controller, but I'm actually not certain whether the drawbars and knobs send MIDI CC's over USB. I'd like to double check with my contacts who work with Ferrofish. I'll circle back here as soon as I have a definitive answer for you. Feel free to contact me directly if you have further questions in the meantime, and thanks again! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com

@@greggiacona238 Hi there Greg, Caleb from Sweetwater here again. I heard back from the folks over at Ferrofish. They let me know that the drawbars and controls on the B4000+ do not send out any MIDI data over the USB connection. They only control the onboard sounds in real time. Hope this clears things up. Let me know if I can look into anything else for you! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com

hi there, I have the Ferro since 2017, and I like it very much, though, the Rotary effect is too weak, so I recommend to add a Ventilator (have the Mini) , than it would be almost unbeatable right!

Ya it sounds like a cheap rip-off. Course, a B3 now goes for around $14K in great condition. Used to get them for $800 all day long and that wasn't that long ago.*

This is likely an ignorant question, but that's why I'm asking it; can this be used to extend the voices etc on a real tonewheel organ ie B-3, C-3, A100 etc? Thanks in advance for considering my request! 🎹🎹🎹✌

2 Questions: 1) Can you assign no rotary to the bass pedal sound? if u want a clean bass tone which leads to question 2) Can I assign a second keyboard (connected via midi) to control both the Lower and Pedal sound? I think If I setup a split in the midi controller, it should work but was wondering if the device can assign it by itself?
@sweetwater3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marcus, Great question! I am not seeing a way to take the rotary off the bass sounds in the B4000+. There are two MIDI inputs so assigning a second keyboard would work to control a lower manual and/or pedal bass. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks! How do you connect the module to a current USB out keyboard?
@sweetwater2 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank, great question. If your keyboard only has MIDI over USB and no 5-pin output, then you would need to connect the keyboard to a computer and then the computer to the B4000+. If you need help finding a MIDI controller that could be used without a computer, feel free to reach out. Thanks! The audio out is only mono?
@ianflurrance84383 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing, the manual wasn’t super helpful. It’s looks like it may be a stereo jack, so I think you can use a y cable for stereo. But I would love more clarification on it.
@sweetwater3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Nurredin. Great question! The audio and phones outputs accept a 1/4" TRS cable which will give you a stereo output that you can then convert to a dual mono TS if needed. Feel free to reach out with any other questions. Thanks! Jason Filloramo, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1281, Jason_Filloramo@sweetwater.com

@@ianflurrance8438 Maybe you could use a Y cord and run it in dual mono- faux stereo. delay one of the Y chord outputs and simulate a Leslie rotary - if you want- as best you can, or save up for Motion Sound's excellent Pro 3 amplifier with a nice Leslie rotary sound from a real rotary horn and speaker! I want a Pro 3 to complement and "complete" my Motion Sound key Pro KP200s stereo keyboard amp. Have fun, and keep on playing!

I used to own and appreciate my Oberheim OB-3 module. It was heavier and it sounded really good. I think that it had 2 speeds- fast and slow- that were manually controlled (Just push a button to select the speed.) This seems like a really great module on the whole. What's its price and the range of new and used prices?
@keyflavourz29833 жыл бұрын
You can assign it to the mod wheel on the keyboard/ controller you're using actually... Mod wheel positions Down =Slow Centre= Brake Up = Fast..
@keyflavourz29833 жыл бұрын
u can u a sustain pedal as your rotary switch controls.. You can set it for 2 or 3 positions.. You'll just have to keep hitting the pedal to toggle thru the different rotary speeds
