I bought another pair of these. It seems there are at least 2 different crossovers for these. There is a schematic on diyAudio that is quite different.I actually built that design for another pair and it sounded very good.Although that pair was perhaps using 8 ohm Celestion HF1300 tweeters rather than 16 ohm.I can't quite remember. The pair I have now looks different to yours. The air core inductors are not wound on square bobbins and all the caps are white Plessey MKT rather than the one electrolytic on the bass circuit. All those Plesseys were very close to value. That is pretty impressive for 40 year old caps!So they stayed and I just replaced the 6.8 uF electolytic an the woofer that measured closer to 8uF. In mine one each of the 82 ohm resistors was missing -but in a different position in each speaker! That made them sound very odd and dull sounding.Like the HF1300 was being attenuated relative to the woofer.Which is not what I expected. Then I removed both 82 ohm resistors in both speakers and then they sounded very good -if perhaps a tad bright but some people might prefer that sound.Worth a try anyway. Either way they sound very good. I have owned most of the BBC influenced speakers.I rank the Rogers Studio 1 up with the best of them.I think I prefer them to Spendor BC1 and Rogers Export Monitors.A bit more neutral sounding than them and much better power handling.Still after a pair of Tangent RS4s which had a very engaging sound.

Hi There - I have the exact same speakers, and can't hear any audible output from both of the T27's - is it obvious when they have stopped working? Or maybe my 50 year old ears can't pick up the high frequencies. I can hear the Celestion mids fine. thanks. Marc

I would love to find some sort of epoxy to repair minor damage in these old speaker cabinets, this would enable me to keep the original wood veneer in tact. I prefer that to a new wrap any day. The material I’m looking for should be usable in very small places/amounts and once hardened it needs to be very hard and smooth. I would like to have some sort of thin wall monitor speaker with easy to implement components. I’m now thinking to use the new Scan Speak D2008/8521 tweeters and Seas 21 RF/P and Seas 17RE/P. The latter ones for example will be used in like new Ditton 15 cabinets with new front baffles. A few tiny dents and chips need to be repaired. All the best with your channel, I simply love your videos.

If the cabinets and veneer is salvageable then I will add new small sections of veneer and blend sand them in. A good trick to get an exact match is to take a section of veneer from the base of the speaker where you won't notice it.

Nice video. I’ve got the same issue with some minor corrosion on the covers of the KefT27. Can I check what you used to clean them up, and if I need to use a particular adhesive to reattach them? Thanks

I carefully cleaned them with a soft wire wheel. You could use a soft wire brush. Isopropyl alcohol to clean and degrease after and then some satin black spray. I just used locktite to refix the grill. Cheers
