Funny you should mention Coronation St, I’ve been watching two classic episodes every morning at 6am on itv3 for ages now. Like you I haven’t watched it for years but I enjoy these old ones with all the characters I remember. The caravan looks lovely and cosy and the bedding you chose goes really well with the upholstery! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Roger, I also love classic Coronation Street, they're on tv every weekday afternoon from 1993. As far as I'm concerned the programme is just not the same as it used to be now. The show used to have a lot of realism that it has just lost nowadays. Percy sugden and Alf Roberts were always my favourites. Wish you luck with your caravaning.

Reference lighting: EBay is the best place for lighting. I changed all our lights to modern LEDs, it’s just two wires. Really simple

Daisy is adorable, we travel with 4 dogs and yes one of them sleeps with us. Thank you for the tour of your new caravan, hope you shoot while on the first trip you take.

Roger, start a list on the notes page on you phone and put glasses at the top. Then simply add anything you need to remind yourself about whenever setting out in your caravan. We did this when we started motor-homing and rarely have to add to it now. Our list includes prompts about essential items to remember to pack, shutting the house up, moving off and setting the MH up at the end of our journey. For us a quick glance at key times really does avoid stress and frustration. Happy touring!

We have 2 dachshunds that share our caravan bed too. Normally, the double bed is made up so that you can sleep across the van, much more room.

Your caravan looks very cozy.When I use to stay at my Grandmas caravan in the 70s, we had to pee in a bucket at night!

Your caravan looks cosy Roger. I initially bought a memory foam dogs bed from Aldi. Its a flat rectangle approx 0.75 m by 1.25 m. I laid it on single sofa with a fat pillow at the top then MF mat thing butting up to it. I used a sleeping bag on top. Being petite, this worked surprising well and was very comfortable. Only my shoulders and hips on mat. I could fold it into 3 put a bit bungee elastic round it and pop it under bed during the day. I have since bought a Duvalay sleeping bag/mattress which is also very comfortable but unfortunately it is really big when rolled up and won't fit under sofa now so have to store in shower during the day. Your caravan looks very cosy indeed. Once you get the bed situation sorted out it will be perfect for a lovely holiday. Why not try a memory foam topper that might help.

Just had a google and you can get a custom made mattress for a caravan, you draw it and they make it, so you could swap the original cushions for a permanent proper mattress. The only downside would be it wouldn’t be upholstered to match the other existing cushions, although you’ll probably have them both covered with throws anyway.

If you turn the base cushions upside down, this gives a flatter surface. Make sure the knee rolls are at the front. Combine this with a duvalay sleeping bag and I get a wonderful nights sleep.

Get a queen size memory foam mattress topper make the bed up To the full queen size even if you Are sleeping by yourself then sleep Across the caravan so your head And feet are by the windows. I did this and it's very comfortable Much better than trying to sleep In a single bed configuration which Is not very comfortable

Hi Roger we make up our beds the same as you but we have invested in a couple of duvlay mattress’s .they are so comfortable and solved the back problem and we sleep with our two Labrador dogs on the bed also 🐶

Hi it’s not prescription although not commonplace in pharmacies. Either buy online via amazon if you can or try somewhere like Holland and Barrett. Good luck and have a great visit !
