Let's be honest, Sadiq Kahn & Boris Johnson trashed it.

You are a gentle sweet soul, Roger - you aren't useless at all, makes me sad hearing you say that about yourself. No doubt you are feeling better by now, and sending you hugs

Blimey Roger, you weren't kidding when you mentioned in the livestream that you'd had a rough time. Well done for sticking it out and still managing to see the show as planned. I'm sure I would quickly be a gibbering wreck if I had to venture around London solo (TBH I'm not sure I'd find it much easier with company!) and I'd probably chicken out of my plans and retreat back homeward. My only trips into London were years ago before the ULEZ or congestion charging - probably 2007ish, so there was no problem driving my car where I needed to go, which adds a lot of security. With how it is now, and knowing I'd have to use the public transport, I avoid the place like the plague. While I'm sorry you were going through a traumatic time, It was refreshing to hear you not censoring yourself for once. Can't beat a good bit of profanity when the need arises!

Well done for filming this, I know exactly how you feel but I wouldn't have been as brave enough to share it. Glad you feeling better later on, anyway.

Roger. Nice to see on your Day Four vlog that you are well on your way to feeling better. You have my sympathy with regarding to you panic attack. They are horrendous when they happen. I remember being invited to a work colleagues evening wedding reception. I was on my own at the time. I am not really a very good social person, have difficulty mixing and just seem to get so 'tongue-tied'. Anyway, I drove practically all the way to the venue and had a panic attack in the car. I couldn't go any further. Turned round and went home. I don't think he ever forgave me. So I do understand somewhat how you felt. But keep smiling. Great Vlog series. Thanks.

Exactly how I feel when I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t mind London but when the roads are gridlocked and busy then it’s awful.

I think that youre brave for venturing out on your own, on the train, going to shows etc. I rarely venture out of my county! And to be with suffering with a stomach upset and a blister whilst getting lost, id have been angry and upset in equal measure.

Roger, when I wore lenses, at one stage, I had a pair of half moon glasses to put on for reading/looking at things close up.

I’m sorry you were so stressed and had a panic attack. I can understand that. You’re usually pretty solitary and then to go from that to London where you’re not sure where you’re going and getting lost, short on time and feeling unwell and in pain - it’s no wonder you were tearful. I’m not used to doing things on my own so I empathise

It is perfectly understandable that you were overwhelmed in London. It is not Yorkshire, and it was well out of your comfort zone. It was perhaps a too big of a step, too different. The culture has changed a lot and it is understandable that some people would find it just too much to cope with. You would not have been able to read a map while stressed because your frontal cortex - the problem solving part of your brain will have shut down and just left your reptilian part (fight, flight, freeze or fawn) active. If you have any sort of anxiety then it would have just ramped everything up and been too much to cope with. You did well though, in that you were open and honest about how you felt, and about what happened. You have also learnt a lot about what you can and can not tolerate. There is not place like home Dorothy!

London is so dangerous and unsafe and full of terrorists that people from the lower Bronx would not even go there. It's a wonder Roger made it back not in the back of an ambulance van.

I hope you’ve recovered now and definitely DON’T go back into London after next time. At our stage of life we don’t need the stress..just stay where you’re at your happiest and with things that you love 🌸

I’m happy for you that you were able to make it through the whole trip, I can’t for the life of me think of anything worse than being that far away from home feeling that ill and as for London if I had any desire to go there (which I don’t) I know now definitely not to go! I’ll stick to Cornwall and Bristol, though to be honest I don’t love Bristol!
