Wow! I have the magnetic cap but without the "Memoir" on the front, and it lasts for more than half a day. It's just sad that yours doesn't last

I'm glad you enjoyed the fragrance! When you mentioned previously that you hadn't smelled it yet, I knew I had to hook you up with my old decant. It's a bummer that Manny has discontinued it, but there's probably a fair amount of stock still available at the retailers he supplies. Also, thank you for singing the praises of Bel Ami and Bel Ami Vetiver! I recently picked up a bottle of each and have been enjoying them immensely. Cheers, Ram!

I don't think this one is Discontinued! That was Flora & Fauna which was Discontinued to my understanding And of course thank you for your generosity!

@@RamseytheRam You are correct about Flora & Fauna, but this one is discontinued as well. I asked Manny directly because I noticed it was no longer listed on the Rogue site or Etsy shop, and he told me that he discontinued it to make way for other new releases. I guess it didn't sell well? Bummer!

I’m really glad that you got to smell this, it is pretty awesome. I agree I cannot stand the fucking opening of this, but the dry down…magical. I haven’t heard anything about him having any new releases, I’m curious on what he’s working…

Rogue are great. They definitely have like a vintage edge to them. I got their discovery set and thought some of them smelled like expensive soap though. Ps. Wazamba has the best plum opening.

i knew youd like this lol. gotta get you a sample of the new one, absolue de mousse. very strange, i bought it right away on release and at first it kind of smelled almost identical to mousse illuminee but had something clashing a little in it that i wasnt crazy about. after sitting for a few months and getting air in the bottle or w.e., its really amazing now. the myrrh is especially nice.

Got 9ml of Derviche coming in. I really like it! Not challenging to me which I prefer more challenging. It’s just a really good well blended fragrance imo. Rostracto was very well blended as well. He def knows what he’s doing at a very fair price. My buddy turned me onto the house mousse illuminne was amazing as well. That oak moss unreal!

A few years back when I was just starting out with fragrances I got the Rogue sample set. I admired Manuel Cross' sort of anti-establishment sensibilities. I chose to get bottles of Derviche,Derviche II,Vetifleur,and Champs Luminaires. The Champs Luminaires now has me loving that tuberose/coconut milk accord. I wear it around the house just for myself. Those other Rogue fragrances I have are still too challenging for me to wear out. Maybe I'll grow into them someday; maybe not. But I enjoy sniffing them anyway. The retro classics were never my cuppa. Lavender,oakmoss,barbershoppy stuff...no thanks. Back in the 80's I got a 75ml splash bottle of Van Cleef&Arpels EDT that I have worn very rarely. I think it's a well-made scent but way too haircut&shoeshine for me. Yatagan? WTF?

Yes I would Bon Monsieur is actually what U recommend to those who want to experience a classic fougere from the 80s like VC&A Tsar or Gucci Nobile but they can't find a vintage bottle or don't want to drop the dough on a deep vintage bottle

Thanks for sharing your take on this. I have an official roll-on sample of this that i need to test. Hearing you compare this to aramis and diaghilev 😮 I'm very excited to try it on skin. Manuel Cross is a very good independent perfumer imo. I love chypre siam, bon monsieur, mousse illuminee, targhee forest, and tabac vert. I like derviche 1, but derviche 2 is way too sweet for me.

Yes I agree he is one of the good guys... although I would love to have him on to clarify his whole ifra vs non-ifra compliant stance...but I am a fan of his work

@RamseytheRam yes i would love that information as well. I think that whether he is ifra complaint or not, what he is creating with natural materials is surprisingly very good and has long-lasting power. Without using synthetic materials, i think he is hell of a perfumer. I really do think that what he has done isn't his full potential for making perfumes. If he is an ifra complaint, then this is definitely not his full potential. Maybe we, as perfume enthusiasts, can tell that comparing his early work to new his releases.

This question bay be unrelated, but you said you dont like the new guerlain direction, and love shalimar. Have you tried habit rouge parfum? I feel its almost a modernised shalimar, the vanilla is all vanilla tincture not vanilla tincure plus ethyl vanillin.
