It's very refreshing to hear a top-level painter talk about having an arts background. So many talented painters downplay their formal training, and it can be very disheartening to the less-artistically-inclined hobbyists out here. My brother's first models were so much better than mine, and he was like "I spent years learning how to use a brush. You haven't made art since the 8th grade." Thank you! Obviously there is also natural talent involved in your case, but it takes work to hone that into a dependable skill. The work really shows (and the love!).

Having listened to folk like Peachy talk about it and from what Louise has said; my impression is that there are a few people there with a bit of a Napoleon complex and make decisions fueled by their ego rather than logic, common sense or what might be good for business.. which basically drove good people away! Loe and behold.. turns out they can do it on their own! Amazing work, Louise, thanks for the content so far and what's to come!

I assumed in or near Edinburgh, so Dunfermline wasn't too far off the mark, just over the Forth! Some excellent metal crossover there 🤘🏻 The infodumping/not getting infodumping thing I think is the biggest social barrier between neurotypical and neurodivergent people, IMO (that said sometimes I struggle with others' infodumping because I'm wanting to "read ahead" and skip to the end!). I want people to be really into something and see the joy it gives them. Before i realised it was a neurotype difference I found it really weird that loads of my work peers just didn't seem to be into things. Pro Acryl Titanium is the only PA I own so far (the problem with having All The Paints for years before discovering them). It's the absolute bollocks!

I remember coming across your first Rainbow Warriors video - I was surprised it was the only "real" video on your channel at the time because clearly, you know your stuff when it comes to painting minis and you'd been at it for a while. What's less surprising is that you've already hit 100k - even if you look back on that video and notice all the things you'd do differently now, it was still really well presented and entertaining - you're affable, infectiously enthusiastic, and do some really spectacular and unique projects. The rest is just details that you figure out as you go - not to trivialize any of it. I'm glad you chose to roll the proverbial dice on this whole youtube thing, and you deserve to feel proud of it.

Proud to be one of 100000 rogues, Louise. Currently I don't paint anything (don't have any free time for that), but watching other people being creative really helps to scratch that itch. My favorite vid was about you visiting that custom miniatures convention, with pro sculpters creating minis in real time, in their oldschool style. Before your channel, I felt like everyone's kind of playing it safe and making videos on already established topics. Like, there was a plethora of videos about how to paint this and that, and most 40k painting KZbinrs (not all) just kind of created their own take on how to do basic stuff. Which is cool, but that's not kind of content you are excited to see. That's kind of content you look for when you are figuring out how to paint stuff. But you don't stop on that basic bread and butter stuff, you also cover topics that are new and fresh - experimenting with play-doh, visiting obscure miniature conventions, making a whole vid about freaking rainbow warriors, creating a line of novelty goblin miniatures (including the box!). I really like how you are first artist and miniature painter second, for you it's just a medium, and when you showcase your other creating endeavors, to me, it's giving a new perspective. And after painting two companies worth of similar-looking space marines, it's hard to look at miniature painting and see that as a creative process meant to express one's creativity. So that perspective is very valuable. That's why I like watching your vids and what I'd like to see more of in the future. Yes, this whole blob of text is my attempt at answering your question. Anyway, congratulations on 100k and hopefully you'll have a great success in a coming year!

Probably the only band that can get me bubbly and overeager and at risk of a "calm down" ;) I also read an interview and atleast that half of the band seemed like a realy good dude. I like it when people are excited about their hobbies. The only time I ever tell them to chill about it is because sometimes they will get so excited I can't follow what they're saying anymore, either because they are going a mile a minute or because they slipped into technical jargon that I do not have the background to understand and they have neglected to explain some important foundational information in their excitement. I will tell them to take a second to cool their heels and explain where they lost me so we can restart. Hopefully when I do that, they understand that I am excited for them and trying to better engage with their hobbies instead of trying to break them down.

Personally much of my anxiety in general comes from expecting myself to be better every single time I do something, try to remember the purpose of your activity is enjoying yourself and just getting across the ideas you like.
