Bangladesh transports more than 1,600 Rohingya refugees to a low-lying island, in the first phase of a controversial planned relocation of 100,000 refugees to Bhashan Char, a silt island that critics say is prone to flooding and in the path of cyclones that frequently wreak havoc in the region. Almost a million Rohingya - most of whom fled a military offensive in neighbouring Myanmar in 2017 - live in squalid camps in south-eastern Bangladesh. Any return to Myanmar appears unlikely for now.

"Bhashan Char" doesn’t mean floating island. "Char" means an island, more specifically, an island which was formed by sediments of a river. "Bhashan" derived from a Bangladeshi leader's title, his name is Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani. So, "Bhashan Char" means "Island of Bhashani

What about your country? What about your responsibility as a human if you call your self off course? Whole world has responsibility to ensure justice for Rohinga and ro get them back to Arakan State, their anchesters land, if you as a human don't do your part, you will have to answer for that some day and who knows you may have to suffer their plight someday as well ( i wish that doesn't happen for you though but there is a saying Nature never forgives, please remember that and do whatever u can to get them justice and force Myanmar to get them back their right as a citizen of Myanmar or a independent Arakan State which is now occupied by Myanmar.

What kind of nonsense headline it is??? Do you know everything about Bhasan Char?? It is one of the best accomodation projects ever built in Bangladesh. If any kinds of flood hits the iland the water cannot even reach out the floor because there were bulit a dam to protect the iland which is very high than the sea tide. So please publish the proper news. Don't make the people wrong. Say against Myanmar for their curel activities against the Rohingya Peolple. We never want to hurt them (Rohingya) We know better where they will be safe and sound than you.
