Bhaiya I really don't wanna ask personal questions in public but I have no other way to contact you. So, I'm from a middle class family, my father has been retired and we've only 4-5 lacs left. I've a younger brother just cleared 12th this year, I'm in second year (about to end) BTech CSE in tier 3 college, I should not say I wasted my 2 years but I didn't utilise them in a good way. I was thinking that investing time in GATE is not a good option because of limited money we have and better option would be to focus on placements but there's no placement at all in tier 3, also applying for off campus is like finding a stone in the ocean and after seeing your video where you've calculated the expenses that one will have after moving to some other city while doing job, literally opened my eyes. I'm currently studying as much as I can to gain new skills to crack interview, or preparing for GATE will be a good option. Please consider replying bhaiya I didn't want to ask my personal questions in public but I really want your help bhaiya because you're so humble person as far as I know. Thanks.

​@@ridhmannarora4036 I'm in my 3rd Year and I can only say one thing to you If you are in a good college don't do GATE just learn coding skills and communication skills be frank and make connections do Anchoring and be forward But if you are not in a good college Like tier 3 college you have slightest doubt that your college is not sufficiently good enough for placement. Don't think about anything else you have to have seer determination about giving GATE nothing else. Now back to your question if you want to give GATE exam start preparing from the second semester because the first semester is for college and coding and making good friends. And why you should not think about GATE in first year because there is nothing in first year that you can prepare there is only c/c++ which you should focus in first year because that will help you a lot Try to learn coding in the first year as much as possible no compromise learn DSA One most important thing for freshers Purchase a DSA course like (DSA decode with C++ )or (love babbar DSA c++) It will cost you around 2800-3500 but you will not regret purchasing it in the slightest Consider these investment upon yourself Cuz 3500 is not that much amount you must purchase a DSA course because youtube is not sufficient for DSA and many topics would be ignored there. I have written these thinking about what I should have known and done if I were again in first year. Follow my advice you will thank me in the future I have wasted my time in college don't waste yours either do coding or GATE Both are equally good you just have to make a decision you can even flip a coin to decide which to choose.
