Winning the challenge is never the ultimate goal, making good content is. As an example, a very famous randomized nuzlocke video had the guy win it, and for the edited video, he reloaded a save, and lost on purpose (without saying so in the video, I know because I was there for the stream), because there was a very fun and poetic way for him to lose. He had a Groudon as a starter, and kept saying “every major fight will end in Groudon”. He also didn’t teach it Bulk Up because “what are the odds we need it, right?” So when one of the Elite Four had a Bulk Up Groudon, losing to the groudon that was a reminder of an earlier mistake was a much more interesting ending to the video than a win (the champion’s ace in turn was a delibird which would have been incredibly anticlimactic)

You should make a series where you start with exactly 20 cards to run and you need to win a ladder match to earn 1 additional booster pack to make your deck stronger (maybe incentives like win streak goals to earn supporter cards like professors research and pokeball)

I loved this. The banter is so great. I do think the drafting would probably be better if you increased the amount of packs or allowed some rules for adding shop cards (like pokeball, prof research, etc). But at the same time I really liked watching you guys having to work with such super limited cards. As for challenges I’d like to see, I think it’d be neat if you tried making No EX decks, even using your own collections. I’ve dabbled a bit in No Ex and it makes the game really dynamic with a lot of cards you wouldnt expect to use.

I’m glad you enjoyed the video!! The rule was that if we somehow drew a third copy of some card, then we could replace it with a shop card (since you can’t have more than two copies in a deck). But the chaos made it that much more interesting imo 😂
