Life was as complicated as it was buddy. I was a teen in the 90s and the world was as shit as it is now. In many ways it was shittier in the 90s as people overall were poorer and had fewer resources. Sorry, didn't mean to sound depressing. However, I agree that ARR's music was such a breath of fresh air. All the key moments in my life in the 90s are for some reason also imprinted with ARRs music (for example, whenever I think of my 11th and 12th grades, I think about Roja / Thiruda Thiruda / Duet / Pudhiyamugan etc.. AND vice versa :))

After 31 years I am still amazed at the BGM, for a 24 year old, ARR must have been really blessed by the Almighty to have such maturity in such a young age to capture and interpret situations into musical motifs blending traditional, western and ambient electronica which was free from all cliches in film music prevailing then.. God bless him forever for bringing joy to our lives over so many decades

Patriotism is never a business. This movie showed everything / talked about everything but not out loud..... from the inconceivable terrorism in my Rishi muni’sland ; from the Pandit genocide & exodus , to Mufti ‘s daughters released from terrorists , to Pakistan being a betrayer , to the fact that Islam and its radicalization-is the root cause of all thus problem. The movie was never brave enough to talk about the facts. ( out loud). Terrorists and their brother-sister are kind hearted souls who let the mainland Indians ( according to them) escape ..... really .... I mean really ......! How much soft peddling can be done for such horrendous creatures?? It is just that when a verdict of the masses changes , a different kind of govt comes to power the narrative changes completely ... A man who made songs for this movie in both languages , wins a Oscar for making song for a English movie , but Hindi lyrics suddenly turns into a language patriotic , puts down another language !!! I mean how come ?? More than his Roja / Bombay / other movies .... didn’t the Indians love his “ Maa tujhe salaam...” but NO, now language fight is essential . Similarly politics gets played in every front , every move , every narrative .... what are you expecting . You inspite of being patriotic are now ready to malign your majority community , your country , your own culture ; all becoz you don’t like a govt. This polarization had to happen ... becoz you call each and every aspect of this country a farce , a business , a jingoism .....
