Roja Burlington 1819 Review 🎩🍾 (w/ Data)

When I first got a decant of it, I was smitten. It was so beautiful but that cumin was kinda kicking strongly after awhile and pushing me not to buy it. I mean, I wear frags to smell good but I don't think smelling like that cumin would be good. Like some days, I don't pick up the cumin but what does some else smell when I walk by ? After a few wearings tho, I decided ill take the leap and get a bottle cause that opening was really captivating and after it drys down further, I like the oak moss note that I get. Upon receiving the bottle, It was a 2023 batch so it was pretty new. It had no cumin in it. I kept wearing it but it didnt come out until a few months passed and the bottle got to mature. During the absence of the cumin, It was a grapefruit, mint and saffron perfume on me. Plus, without the cumin it just didnt feel like Burlington as the sharpness which I liked was missing. Thats when I decided that I don't mind the cumin note and it is important to give me the sharpness that I like. After maturing, the cumin was there but the saffron kinda dissapeared. Would have loved to have the saffron aroung tho. It is definitely not a perfume that everyone should get cause for me, the cumin is only there when I smell it up close but that may not be the case for everyone. Thanks for the video tho, there arent many public tests on this stuff and it was nice to see more opinions on it 👍

I’ve only heard one other reviewer not like this fragrance and said it smelled too mature. Most others appear to love it. I’ve smelled a few Roja perfumes and I don’t seem to connect with them, however I must say his blending is very good as almost all were very smooth. I’ve been wanting to get a sample of 1819 but even that is expensive so I’m glad you did this review as it seems we have similar likes in fragrances. It’s funny because cumin as a raw perfume material seems to have some sexiness to it.

I was so hyped for this and got my sample today. I‘m dissapointed tbh. I find it WAY too overrated. Don‘t get me wrong, its a nice scent and you can smell how nicely its blended, but still overrated. I expected more. In the opening, you get a herb/bitter citrusy smell which turns into a green-earthy smell. I mean, yeah its good, but really nothing special. I also can‘t detect any sweetness here, strictly herb-citrusy-earthy vibes. It gives me Terre de Hermes earthy vibes, but they are not the same. Def a mature scent, not for the sweet boys in their 20‘s😂😂

I blind bought this a year ago and I like the opening but the dry down that cumin smells like armpits so I stop using it

Cumin works well on my skin. And I dont think the note is offputting at all. Maybe because Im from asia and that note is quite common here. And to me cumin when used right smells sexy and manly. I find most people in the west cant get past the cumin note. Im interestedto see your take on Amouage overture man which I absolutely love. Thats another “cumin bomb”. Good job on the video. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I got the Amouage overture man I love it. I do detect the cumin but I don’t mind it this time. It’s very well blended. I hated the cumin in Ganymede instantly lol. I guess it has to do with how it’s blended Overture smells fantastic.

You know, first time I tried Burlington 1819 I did smell the cumin just a little. And I was wary to even get a decant of this fragrance. Now I wear it, apply liberally, and I personally don’t smell the cumin whatsoever as the ingredients seem to all blend together. But it’s good to know that others might not love this smell on me! How would you compare Burlington 1819 to Torino 21?

@@RobertLaTuso they’re very different Burlington is grapefruit and spices more formal and mature Torino 21 is lime and mint more casual and young

Burlington is way more herb and bitter, it opens up with herb citrusy notes and turns into a green earthy smell, strictly for mature folks imo. I also think its way too overrated for the smell we get. Torino 21 is a Mojito in a bottle, very minty-fresh with a prominent sweetness. They have nothing common.

Absolutely correct about the cumin smelling like body odor. Don’t see why Roja would do this, do the upper class like the smell of sweat?!?… I blind bought this and wore it once…don’t want to wear it again.

Came back to this today. I think you only get the sweaty cumin close up. I don’t think you can smell it in the air, and the cumin probably gives it projection. Definitely not a date night or sexy scent though, close up it’s awful. Think it’s just a fresh formal scent.
