My mom is wanting a sound bar and I've been considering this Roku one. She has hdmi but not arc and has the optical output. With the optical output will she be able to hear the sound from say her cable box to? Thanks!

One of the most annoying aspects of using external speakers (currently have a Sony soundbar) of any kind is when the video and audio are not synced properly and there is a delay in the sound to the video. Have you heard of this being a problem with the Roku Streambar? If so, does the Streambar have a way to sync the sound to the video? Thank you!

Thanks. You made my hookup so much easier. I have an older tv so I had to use the optical cable too. I noticed that when I adjust the volume it mutes the sound. It take three or four clicks of the mute button to get the sound back. Any suggestions?

If your TV does not have an ark and able to HDMI port and you are there for using digital Optical the volume control generally will not work unless of course you’re using the volume control that came with the Roku stream bar

Thanks for making the video I really enjoyed it it helped a lot after watching the video I then purchased the Roku streaming bar. After a couple weeks of using the product I started getting a continuous crackle in my speaker. I’ve done quite a bit of troubleshooting on my own the basics like checking to make sure everything is plugged in properly ETC. even a factory reset and I’m still getting the crackle in my speaker would you have any suggestions on why that’s happening please!!and thank you for your help

So, the stream bar can not be direct connected to the router with an ethernet cable? It can only connect to the internet via wireless streaming?

But chaces are very high that you have a Samsung, Sony or LG TV with Tizen, WebOS or Android TV where the Apps arent fixed and get updates regularly.

Easiest way for me to set up ROKU Streambar! I didn’t have the HDMI arc input so I used the other cables included and it works beautifully!

We have a TCL 55" TV. We connected the Roku Streambar and are able to listen to tv through the Roku app on bluetooth headphones using the Roku app on our phone, When we go back to the Android home page on our tv or the dvd player, we can not get the wireless headphones to work. Is there any way around this?

Yes. The sound bar has that all built in. Its basically Roku device with a speaker built together

If you already have a Roku express, firestick, or other streaming player, can you use the streambar just as a sound bar without using the built in player? If not, does Roku make a sound bar without the streaming player built in? I bought a Roku Express 4k+ a couple of weeks ago. I have it all setup the way I want (channel order, my channels etc.) and I don't want to have to do all that again.

Second video I watched about this device, and NO SOUND WAS PLAYED FROM THE STREAMBAR. How do you review a sound device and play no SOUND??????

It’s a fair question. And sometimes asked by others. If we “demonstrated” the sound within our video what a viewer would hear on their end is their speakers plus the audio signal compression used during transmission via the internet. You’d get a false reading so to speak so unfortunately, I’m our opinion, we can only give an opinion of the sound quality and that’s a bit silly and frustrating. Maybe locate a retailer that has a demo display so you can hear it’s true sound ?

Most modern TV's you can add applications... this wasn't true on much much older TV's but if your modern Smart TV can't do this.. I would be surprised..

Can i use this streaming bar just as a sound bar because then i will have 2 interfaces , tv and roku . I have a sony tv and i`m used to its interface , now i have to adjust myself to roku interface .

This does not work for me. My Tv has no ARC and no Optical inputs, just 3 HDMI inputs. Have I wasted my money? Not in the market for a new TV, this one works fine...

one concern? Do I have to go in to TV Audio menu and put speakers back on every time I turn Roku off and revert back to watching live cable TV? That would require a lot of steps for each use?

Hello it said this could be hooked up to any tv well what about an older model tv with only 1 hook up in back for a coaxial cable my mom has a floor console tv right now we have roku connected to an adapter but now we cant even find replacements for this all the roku now are using HDMI cables how can i use HDMI device on a floor console tv do i need another adapter Thanks

Optical cable included has clear plastic caps instead of the usual black flip tabs Be sure to remove before trying to insert Hard to see but there is a sticker on the plastic bag instructing you to remove

Hi, I am a UK viewer of this video which was very interesting and helpful. It answered several questions, which no other video mentioned. I am waiting for a Samsung 32" 1080p smart TV, and I am expecting inadequate sound output. It will be used in a bedroom. All I want is improved sound. Would the ROKU make a noticeable difference, and would it interfere or clash with the smart functions on the TV. Many thanks. Terry Davis

You would likely experience an improvement in sound, although it’s not a guarantee you would consider it an improvement. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It will not clash with your Samsung, it’s an independent system that “probably” will expand your content streaming options. Thank you for watching

The included remote WILL power my TV on and off. Problem is, it will NOT turn off the Soundbar. The LED status on the bar stays lit (off white color) 24/7 and the back of the unit is hot. Chat with technical support and they told me someone would get back to me via email. Doesn't make any sense that the unit should not power off . Only way to turn off is to unplug it. Anyone else experience this?

You can turn off the Led light in the setting. On the home screen select setting, then scroll to down and select system and finally select power. Their you will see Standby Led and select the option to disable it. Underneath that there should be an option to disable Fast tv Start, but I don't know if will kill all power consumption.

My soundbar stays on while I am looking at TV. It turns off when TV is turned off.

I’ve got a question. I’ve got an LG smart tv and no matter what I do I can’t get the audio to output in sync with the picture. I need a streaming device that with an optical output so I can send audio to my sound bar separately. Can I use the stream bar for this purpose by bypassing the stream bars speakers?

I had the same problem... I had to turn my TV off turn it back on.... Go to settings... Scroll down to all settings... Click general... Scroll down to the bottom and click reset settings.... And it'll reset all your television settings and it will sync everything up

Adjust the synchronization of the sound from the speaker with the TV. The closer to the Minus Sign (-), the longer the audio output time. The closer to the plus sign (+)... go under the AV setup

great video. My question is I already have a wired surround sound system that worked great prior to hooking up my roku streambar. How I cannot get the TV to play on surround sound. Any thoughts?
