I have a Roku stick and just purchased the Roku Express 4k plus for another set with Michael's recommendation and love it. I was surprised to see that if you already have the KZbin app on an existing Roku , it will transfer to your new Roku device also. Don't know if this will work if KZbin is completely band in December though. Also another good tip is using the * on the Roku remote to move and remove any apps.

Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your advanced knowledge. Have you noticed the latest screen options when pausing Netflix on a Roku? Just this week, it's no longer waiting multiple minutes, however as soon as pause is hit, it populates a partial screen overlay showing screen future watch suggestions. Do you or any subscribers know a way to eliminate this? I can't seem to locate this in the settings menu. Thanks for your help, Delfino

Michael, I have a new Sony Bravia TV that has Android TV. Would I get any benefits from using a Roku or Chromecast device specifically using You Tube TV? Would my surround sound issue be better by using either device?
@MichaelSaves3 жыл бұрын
I have no more advice for you on surround sound. Sorry. Maybe someone else can help. You have to make sure your streaming device supports it as well as the service (app) you’re using. If you bought a smart TV set with that capability and it’s not working, contact them first. But yes Chromecast with Google TV has surround sound as long as the apps you’re using support it.

@@jimdunlop4427 Chromecast with Google TV works very well with KZbin TV, since both are owned by Google. I think once you start using a streaming stick (if I recall you were using your computer and a cable to stream), you will have more success.

Can I mirror my Win laptop screen to my TV using ROKU ULTRA? For example, I am streaming sport events via internet access to ESPN+ on my laptop but want to watch them on the big TV screen.
@MichaelSaves2 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason you would not download the ESPN+ app on your Roku? You get a better experience when you use the apps made for streaming to a TV.
@serge83972 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelSaves Thank you for your prompt answer. Yes, in general I agree. But only if ESPN+ app is compatible with the particular model/version of ROKU. For example, ESPN+ article today lists many ROKU ULTRA models/versions BUT lower version of ULTRA box than what today is offered on Amazon. Maybe the article was not updated yet, maybe the app was not updated/tested on a newer hardware. But anyway, that was just an example. There could be other things running on my laptop that I would love to see on the big screen. So the question remains if it is possible and easy to do mirroring/casting with ROKU? ROKU support website is not clear about it and mentions only mirroring of phones (Apple, Win, Android) to ROKU .

@serge83972 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelSaves : I don't think that with a cord it will be a problem. I could of connect my laptop to TV Set: laptop HDMI to HDMI 2 on TV and that should work without ROKU at all. TV will be just an extension screen for my laptop. But the trick I'm really interested in is to connect them via local (home) Wi-Fi.

I really would've loved to get a Roku device for a change, but the deal breaker for me is the fact that a VPN app can't be installed directly on the device unlike others such as the Chromecast with Google TV and Amazon Fire stick 4k.
@chuyocaca41532 жыл бұрын
maybe am mistaken ? and please correct me if wrong but if you physically connect an Ethernet cable ( which is also and option on Roku Ultra instead of using wireless signal ) to your router that has an active VPN on your computer/desk top wouldn't that help solve the Issue ? again if someone knows a lot about this please would appreciate more info.

@@chuyocaca4153 You're absolutely correct as that method you mentioned will work. The problem is I'm not ready to fork out any money to acquire a VPN-compatible router just so the Roku device can connect to it. @@MichaelSaves .. Also I'm pretty sure KZbin for Kids is also leaving Roku. Trust me I didn't like this, but c'est la vie. Google vs Amazon hurt them both, created an opportunity for Roku.
