I was a bit worried at first that Pantera riffs were gunna rain down on me, but it was a great demo by someone that knew how to use the tone controls. First demo that actually showed good clean tones. Thanx Bob

This amp is pretty dirty but it does have a great clean sound

I ended up buying two versions of this amp, the normal one and the British EL34 versions. They are great amps. I have played for 35 years and normally used hand wired deluxe reverbs or Princetons but now I use these Roland hots. I did think there was a very slight solid state fizz in the overdrive when I first got the first one, but after burning in the speaker for 10 hours with a looper this disappeared and they both now sound incredible

I bought the 30 watt tube and I must say it sweet, mean and can kick ass. I hooked up a wawa and swee tea pedal to it and It makes stairway to heaven rock! Whew!

I didn't know they made them in black... Thanks for the demo. Sounds groovy. I tried the 60 watt version, just in a music store, but it was nice.

You can a get a really nice clean tone, jazzy even, if you turn up the master at 30W all the way and the gain (volume) really low and control it from your guitar....the boost will also work well at that setting.Would be nice if reviewers also focus attention on clean sounds - not only on overdrive / distorted sounds.

I mean it is a "dirty amp" so that may be why but it does have a nice clean sound and I usually set up a nice overdriven tone and clean up with my guitars volume

would you say that "too much grit" as mentioned, is the speaker getting wabble? or is normal for the levels of gain? sounds like, it getting destroyed.... - the speaker, but I don't know. Normal?

hello there, nice review and comments. Does anyone know if this Tube Logic technology is also used in the Boss Katana? Thanks.
@cesmcmyth6 жыл бұрын
yes. I have both. the katana is more an EL84 and has a thinner sound. The blues cubes are also more sensitive to your playing. the katana is great, but the BCA are more of a "fine" as in Fineness, pieces of gear. But yeah, same tech applied a bit differently

I switched to this from Fender tube Amps because of reliability. I so done with tube Amps having issues.

Everything has issues Everything... The problem is can you fix it or not With this kind of gear, we gotta take it with a grain of salt Once it malfunctioning, there is a very big chance this thing will end up unusable aka high priced junk
@shayh.35562 ай бұрын
@@midianoctavYou must be new to Roland products, they are very reliable and last for a long time, same with Boss.

You should precise the differences between the Blonde and the Black version, the Blonde is Fender inspired (6l6 or 6v6) while the black is el84 inspired, more like an AC VOX from what i read
@lf170 Жыл бұрын
Not entirely accurate. There is a Blonde and Black version of the Hot which is Fender inspired. This is the one being played. Then there is a Black version which has a metal plate on the front which reads "British EL84 Modified".
@shayh.35562 ай бұрын
Not quite 😂 The el84 version has a plate on the front of it. The Boss Drive version also has a plate. The blonde and black versions without a plate are both Fender inspired with the 59' Bassman being the main inspiration.

i own this amp as well as well as a fender blues jr. III w/ a cannabis rex speaker and i have to say that this is a great amp, but different to the bj. i think it's more akin to a bassman than a bj, but if you dial it the correctly you can get "close." it's an amp that's especially good for woodshedding late into to the night, when you've got no shed, and noise is a problem. the fact that there's no maintenance required and a headphone jack make it a fantastic tool... not to mention it's gigging possibilities. i think at some point i will try to run my bj and this together in stereo... i have a feeling that they will pair very nicely. last thing to mention: as an avid tube guy, despite this coming close feel wise, tonally it still fallls somewhat short. but when you think in terms of a good PA or the roland jazz chorus then i almost guarantee you that there's nothing to worry about :-p. try one if you get the chance!
