Sounds like a great keyboard with some great sounds. The only drawback is that your samples remain in the sample buttons. In other words, you can't sample instruments and play them on the keyboard.

Hello, is it possible to record a guitare in a PAD when hearing the tempo beat? Other question? Is it possible to record a guitare or a mic (voices) when hearing the musique from the midi channels? Like if these were audio tracks but there are audio PADS? After, I must put the sample in the good bar of the music to synchronise it perfectly. IS IT POSSIBLE to record 2 guitares tracks and 2 voices tracks with this process? Thank you very much

You can record audio (to Pads) from mic/line input along midi performance, but there isn't audio tracks and samples will not be placed in right position, so you need to do this manually kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKCXeZuYoJiaraM. In short, you can do this, but FA isn't really for that. It also has a limit of 4 samples played simultaneously.

Hi Sam, I have a Roland FA 06 and when I play the keyboard with a drum set at the same time, the volume of the keyboard + is much lower than that of the drums itself, is it not possible to adjust the volumes separately? Can't you start the rhythm with a pedal? If the answer is yes. Which kind of pedal and how, since otherwise when I play a piece, which for example starts without a rhythm, I have to remove a hand from the keyboard to start it. It seems like samples are saved with a Song rather than a Studio Set? How do I load samples from a different song? Do I have to copy to the song and then clear it?

Got FA-06 just yesterday and after initial excitement, I found out that the pads and sampler is extremely primitive. Pads are not velocity sensitive, NO PREVIEW of the sample when importing (crazy), no way to change pitch of the sample, no possibility to change playback mode to one-shot etc. Also no ADSR volume envelope. Great instrument, but sampler is extremely disappointing.

i have a question. Is it possible to fasten a mp3 sample on the pad (or a sample pad bank) and a split patch? I mean, if i switching between my split pathes, i want my pads (or banks of pads) switching with it automaticly. Cause I usually use one patch for one song. Thx for help.

I have the PreSonus ErisE5’s. They’re very compact, but still quite powerful! Plus I have JBL LSR 308’’s. They’re much bigger, and the bass is louder at lower levels. The E’s bass kick in at louder levels.

If you can find a Fantom X or G in mint condition, that's the board for what you're trying to do. I have the Fantom and FA. The Fantom will and the FA won't.

You can do this with cheaper Juno DS, it even has "multisampling" option which comes with software editor. DS comes with 32 MBs of sampling memory.

Fender Parker Yes they need that update and the pads velocity sensitive. its needs these updates and ability to load more then two at a time from the axial site. Sounds like it needs these updates before I can spend the money.

No. Ed. Technically there is a way to make samples be played by keyboard, but it has a restriction of 4 samples played simultaneously. And, no, those samples can't be incorporated in patches you can do on XA, X, G and even on Juno DS.

I also have the same problem, wanna sample acoustic guitar and play over keys, I do it on my KORG TRITON , that's PERFECT, but ROLAND FA-08 cant do this,,,,,,,,, useless....... Ma Ka If you are good at sampling, the Fantom X is better than both of them. I have the FA and Fantom. I've also read the specs on the MOX which kind of remind me of the Fantom.

Seller will always recommend to buy:). If it fits your needs and budget, then yes, but you really need to know your needs:) Also, you can wait for a few months and look what new products Roland has to offer, because last year they unveiled new Fantom line of products and likely this year will present cheaper keyboards (Fantom 61 key edition costs close to 3200 USD at this moment). If you are a beginner I suggest to look for used FA keyboard in good condition and 30-40 % cheaper than resellers price. Use it for a year, learn things and sale for 100 USD less or no loss at all. And if you like you can keep it. Modern keyboards can easily last 15 years, though you need to be careful with screen and better not use touch function at all. Replacement is costly and without screen you basically will loose 3/4 of it's functionality. Note, if you want a keyboard for home/kids Juno DS by Roland is sufficient for learning things, has PC/Mac editor, can import samples, is reasonably cheap and you can use it for a 5-6 years before deciding if you wanna shift to more professional product such as FA. With DS you will loose on built quality, design, sound quality, sequencer, but inner system of it closely resembles that one on FA, i. e. good on learning things pros do. If you are for piano oriented keyboard you should look at digital piano category of products and if you wanna a keyboard with automatic backing function you should look at arrangers.

Neon Beat I have the Fantom X and Fa 06. The Fantom X is more suitable for assigning drum samples to the keys. I do it all the time. As far as I know, you can only assign samples to the pads on the FA. In my opinion, the FA is more for live performance and DAW integration. And when I say live performance, I mean as far as layer modes, split modes, studio sets, and basically the up to date sound engine. But as far as sequencing and sampling, the Fantom X and Fantom G are without a doubt, the way to go, especially since they have pattern mode and real time phrase sequencing. I would have paid an extra couple of hundred dollars for them to keep those features along with the new sound engine in the FA. They didn't have old school producers and performers in mind when they made this one. I understand the direction you are trying to go with the sampling and sequencing. If you are thinking about buying a keyboard for what you are trying to do, get a Fantom X or G. You can even take sounds from any machine you want and use them in the Fantom through sampling.
