I bought this yesterday. (Fantom O6) Amazing to get away from the Computer and compose. It has a great straight forward sequencer. Has all the Zenology sounds and more on board. Recommended over the Juno-X and Jupiter X/Xm as it does so much more and you get way much more bang for your buck. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@@robertw1871 Here are the reasons why the Fantom-0 is half price(actually,the Fantom 06 is $900 cheaper); No V-Piano, no N-Zyme model expansion, a smaller display(5.5")...no aftertouch, downgraded key-bed, less inputs and has a plastic chassis( but it still offers more comprehensive physical controls, versatility, sound libraries, presets & sound-shaping options...more than any other workstation in history, for the price.) Of course the compromises won't suit everyone, but Roland did an amazing job at offering the user access to 95% of the flagship Fantom's sounds, as well as offering 100% of all the the DAW-style functionality and you won't find such an immensely expandable instrument for it's price range anywhere else on the market, period. As for Roland's pricing on their software, well...it's really no worse than what Korg charges....but at least with Roland, you have the option of buying their software through a musical instrument retailer(where you have the ability to make installments via the retailer's financing options.) Also...the Fantom-0 series comes with 3,500 presets right-out-of-the-box( & with the additional sound libraries from Roland Cloud that are free with a Fantom purchase)...you'll have a total of 6,000 sounds to play with. If all that isn't enough for you, then go spend anywhere from $3,399 to $4,000 on a flagship Fantom....

@Simbor Nabor The classic Roland softsynth expansions are $150 apiece. As for how many expansions you can store, I have no idea( as I could not find any info on the Fantom's internal memory storage.) I will be receiving my Fantom on Friday...so then I will know what the HD space is(won't be buying any model expansions any time soon...that'll have to wait.)

This is the dream come true. I had a FA07 at home in November and returned it. It had some really nice aspects (Like the supernatural sounds, synths and organs as nice or even better than Nord), but some other aspects were a real pain (brass lol). There are 3 more boards I would give a look, but this one seems to have everything I want: affordable price, bearable weight (this is where my back gets excited after 100s of transport of my 30 kg packages), faders for fast access, sub outs (gotta play the bass), probably sturdy construction, obviously little drawbacks in terms of function compared to the big brother and probably a great sound throughout the different sections. I will get one of those Kurzweils in the meantime for reference, but I feel the Fantom-0 will make it.

I’m a yamaha guy. Always will be. But this Roland Fantom-O is really nice! I can see me having the 76 key along with my XF8. Just them two ALONE is a power house in itself! Plus they’re AFFORDABLE; which is a big plus!😌🎶⚡️👍🏾

@@noitnova Well, to some extent, that is true. But I like “editing” and “programming.” That’s the fun part of playing synths. I’m always looking for a challenge. I was @ Berks Jazz Fest last weekend and I say my man Chris “Big Dogg” Davis and he had a Roland X6. Yes; a X6! And the big band horn patch he used was phenomenal! And I know the Fantom-O-sounds better than the X6. So it all comes to the person playing it. I understand your point; some keyboards sound kinda weak coming out the box; but for me I like it. And yes, Yamaha has them beat sound wise. Yamaha is more “natural” sounding; especially the Rhodes and acoustic C9 pianos. That’s why I love my XF8 (and not getting rid of it for the Montage either) Roland is sterile when it comes to their orchestral sounds (to my ears anyway). Thanks for your comment and input.😌🎹🎶👍🏾

@@thortschman Roland came through in the CLUTCH. I love Yamaha sounds. But their interfaces and sequencing have always been a hassle. Roland is the other way around. Great sequencing. Great interface (at least on workstations 😉) Have fun bro I know I will!

I will say that if I didn’t ALREADY have Komplete Maschine and MPC the sounds on the MoDX are better (acoustic) but all in all being a previous Fantom user (X) it’s a solid 8/10. I have had time to really have fun but off the bat it’s EASY to get around and sounds great!

Thanks. This looks like an updated FA06 which I bought and sold around five years ago due to the lengthy menu diving and it trying to do so many things (sampler, sequencer, synth) but not achieving any of this to a convincing degree. I wanted to love it. Looks like the same deal but with ZenCore and step sequencer buttons. Will be good for sone people no doubt.

How easy or hard is it to a) Change volume / mix of each instrument in split mode b) Change octave of each instrument in split mode I "downgraded" from Roland FA06 to DS61, as it was too much menu diving on FA06, whereas direct and easy on DS. I know Fantom-0 is "workstation", not "performance" keyboard, but it's so light it's tempting to use it for both :->

Anyone know if this will output USB 16 channels wide to DAW's like Pro Tools? I'm only seeing 2 Stereo USB outputs. Using the Roland Midi driver on Mac and the Fantom 06 is set to Vendor. Pro Tools is using the Fantom as the playback engine. Am I doing something wrong or do this not in fact output multiple discreet USB channels?

Fantom 0 is awesome & will sell like crazy. My only gripe with this video is how there are tons n tons of times he's hitting buttons or going through menus & doesn't say what he's doing or why. It would be nice to actually explain how & why you're doing things. ✌

Can someone explain the 256mb of memory? Looking at the screenshot and looking at the file sizes of the expansion packs which are exactly the same as the regular Fantom for the SN and EZX packs, we are over 750mb already, and he’s at the bottom of his scroll bar so he’s got other stuff installed, likely the model packs…. Something doesn’t add up, clearly.

256mb is the RAM memory.. Maybe Expansions will be installed at ROM memory.. I think... Not sure..

256MB of user memory for samples to pitch across the keybed. Expansions don't touch that. RAM is a different matter, and it has far more than that or it wouldn't even work.

@@Jason75913 So expansions do affect the 256 MB of space but Roland is using a compression algorithm to deliver the expansions to the Fantom-0. So you can have up to 8 expansions on the Fantom-0, but if you are going to use your own samples, they will not benefit from this compression.

Roland, Korg, and Yamaha always bust out the new flagship rompler before pumping out a cheaper, cut-down version with most of the same sounds. This was inevitable. This Fantom-0 has far less features, less capabilities, less polyphony, no CV I/O, and much more. It is more comparable to its FA predecessor, which it mostly beats.

Roland will continue to work on the JP-X lineup. People were asking for an affordable FANTOM. So that was priotrised for the time being.

There are a number of differences between the flagship Fantom instruments and the new Fantom-0 series. Some of the big ones are the synth filter (analog on the Fantom, digital on the Fantom-0), the keybed (highly upgraded on the Fantom - the 88-key weighted version of the flagship has the same PHA-50 keybed as Roland's high-end stage pianos), and a lot more connectivity on the full Fantom (including CV/gate to integrate with modular synth rigs). No aftertouch & no V-Piano engine....but considering that the Fantom-0 series is less than half the price...I feel that Roland did a fantastic job at trimming off what was needed to bring the production cost down...while leaving the essentials in tact. Ultimately....this is the most feature-packed workstation in it's class( & personally, I prefer it over the Korg Nautilus( not just in terms of a lower price...but also the general workflow & the amount of physical controls.)

Besides....since you can afford to drop 4 grand on a keyboard, what is there really to complain about? It would take me 2 years to save up enough money to have what you've got.

@@HighlandStudio91 So if money wasn’t a critical decision, what is the answer between the baby and flagship, when you compare weight, keybed and general features for tracking in a home studio… would the O be good enough to not disappoint or feel like a cheap replacement for a professional instrument… It’s incredibly difficult to decide, I’d really love to save 2 grand, but I also don’t want to throw 2 grand in the trash either, and then invest another 4 grand 8 months down the road when I realize it’s not cutting it…

For crying out loud !! HOW MANY PIANOS DO YOU NEED ?!?! I'm interested in unique sounds this synth can make. EVERY KEYBOARD MANUFACTURER MAKES GREAT PIANO SOUNDS I just hate it when a demo highlights pianos and hardly anything that's unique about the instrument.
