Remember showing Audiomaster on my $500 home Amiga computer to my DJ/studio buddies. It was soo easy and intuitive to use. I would fine cut samples and create sequences in seconds, which would take them a minute or two to do on their $1500 Akai 3000. Blew their mind. :)

I cut my teeth on the Amiga 500.. that thing was a leap forward as a creative platform.. I was on the Commodore 64, beforehand.. but when the Amiga hit the streets.. wow, we could really get creative.. and, as it happens.. the engineers and programmers went on to work for Ensoniq and Emu, as far as I know. So, in essence.. it was the dawn of the Sampler/Sequencers.. as we knew it.. very fond memories of the crews I was in making “mods” for tracker apps that were used in various ‘intros’ and ‘trainers’ 👾🤓

The Juno 6 has one of the best arpeggiators around.. not so much in terms of complexity, but just in terms of 'fun' IMHO.. it's very similar to the SH-101 arpeggiator, but just on a big synth. You should check out the clip on the 60 as well, very similar to the 6 though 😉

I’m rewatching and stealing some of these ideas. My efx chain is an ADG-1 analog delay and a Mercury 7 verb. Adding efx with the chorus on has been a challenge so far.

i have a Juno-6 and it's not a problem...i'm recording it in Reaper, adding Black Hole or Blue Sky reverb, and i even add Roland's Chorus 60 VST which makes it sound even more rich

I have one Juno6, lovely sounds, this is synths History. Good to understand how analog sounds works. I think also you can't find on new synths the same sound, I have a Jupiter50 the juno6 sounds are different and not the same way to simply push gliders to make evolving the sound, perhaps using a Ipad I have not, Juno 6 is so easy to make the sound, like an organ, you forgets technology.

I tend to prefer the sound of my 6..'Presets' on the 60 is convenient.. but, for my ears.. the 6 has a more rounded bottom end. The 106 is quite a different animal, but I do favor the height and positions of the faders on the 6 & 60 👍🏼

The 6 because it's the same sound for less money, continuous HPF instead of stepped, and it's so easy to program that unless you're gigging patch memory is just a nice to have not a necessity. Front panel looks a little less cluttered too
@MacXpert749 ай бұрын
@@project-95I definitely prefer to have my Juno 60 with the patch memory. It's not just handy for playing live. If you're working on a track and use multiple sounds from the Juno in it, it's really convenient to be able to recall a sound on any moment. For instance you played a bass part, but later want to add some different lines. With the Juno 60 I can just select the patch and record it directly. With the Juno 6 I would first need to spend the time to exactly dial in the sound, so that it doesn't have an unwanted change in the track. The HPF, is not much used on the Juno (at least not by me), as it's a non resonant low-end roll-off type of HPF. The 4 positions are good enough for that, and otherwise EQ can be used for finer control. So it's not much of an advantage that the Juno 6 has. Other sound differences between a Juno 6 and Juno 60 mentioned by people should be down to aging of components and/or calibration, as technically as far as I know the circuitry is identical between the two.

In my opinion, the Juno 6 was best utilized in the studio as a post production instrument. Meaning, after the foundation tracks had already been recorded. Enhance recorded instruments and bridge sections of songs that needed something. Each part could be uniquely customized in a one time only, never again sound that created "magic" for a recording. It was no good for live use but in a studio with EQ, reverb, delay, phase and flange it was capable of such an incredibly beautiful sound. As demonstrated here.
@philosophiaentis56125 ай бұрын
So was it not played dry, but with external effects?
@jimmerriam61783 ай бұрын
I had one and it's since been replaced by an OB-6, which I deeply regret, though I love the OB-6 too for it's "sound". I don't regret the OB-6. I agree with what you wrote, but I also just fell in love with the Juno's own sound without effects too. I never ran it through effects except just some reverb sometimes.
