This is so useful!!!! I just got an MV-1 and have been looking at documentation, and the motion designer stuff is way more powerful than I initially gave it credit for. Thanks for making this video!

No worries David - yes, it's quite powerful, but there are some limitations that you need to find work arounds for (and also a bit of menu diving!). I'll keep sharing the tricks I have found.

Hello, Here is my feedback in the particular case of sidechain applied to a bassline using 1/16th notes using the motion designer. A "click" noise could be heard every 4/16th note. I found out that by tweaking the "STA" parameter on 1st, 5th, 9th and 13th (and so on) notes, this "click" could be removed, leaving a nice and smooth ducking effect. Hope this will help others ; thanks again for your tutorial !

Loved this - loved the track too. I regularly prefer using an LFO’ed filter for this rather than a side chain, even on Ableton anyway so I’ll definitely be trying this out. I have only had the unit a few weeks but I hadn’t thought to look through the fx in that way to achieve it- I guess I could use the same method 1 with an LFO controlled motion on the filter :)
@teabreakbeats3 жыл бұрын
Yea - the motion control can tweak any parameter that you assign to the knobs; filter cut-off would work too! Enjoy the MC-101 and thanks for watching!

Excellent idea. Keep them coming. How about something on humanising realistic hihats or emulating analog hihats? Perhaps by subtle modulation of attack, volume or EQ, by using multiple hihats in a kit or by using looser quantisation. Or how about something on using single cycle samples to sound design if that is possible. There's lots of tricks and tips out there for other devices,

These videos are great, please keep up the great job! I love my MC 101. Can you think of a way to record directly to the groovebox? Wanting to use my mic to take real world samples and use them on the fly. 🤔

Hi - thanks for watching. In version 1.5 of the firmware: In Note Mode, Press Shift + Edit to enter the TONE EDIT MENU. scroll to MULTI FX and push the knob to enter. In the MULTI FX Menu, scroll the value knob all the way anticlockwise to see the first parameter: My first setting is Switch (which I set to ON) I turn the value knob one click clockwise and my second setting is Type (which I set to TREMOLO) Turn the value knob one more click clockwise and the third setting is Mod Wave (which I set to Saw 1)

Really wish there was a way to do it with the compressor, i would love to use it with hip hop instead of a 4 on the floor type beat.
@teabreakbeats3 жыл бұрын
You can probably do some step sequencing / automation on volume to duck the volume in time of your non-4 on the floor type beast, but it will be quite a chore to program in. Thanks for watching!

Is the same way you would do it on the mc707?
@teabreakbeats4 жыл бұрын
Hello - Yes, the MC707 has the same functions for the motion designer and the same tremolo effect. However - the menu might look different as it has a better screen (sorry I do not have a 707 to give you the exact steps). Thanks for watching!
