Roland MC-505 "first Steps" by moonbooter

I filmed the first song I composed on the Roland MC-505 about two years ago. So I called it "first Steps". It´s not perfect but it´s so much fun to make music with this machine.

Jean Michael Jarre sound to it! Love those transpose moments! Beautiful groovebox! I will have the 909 very soon. Don't know how I Will incorporate a groove box into a non loopbased studio, but I will find a way. Massive loops! Or I will just trigger stuff with a computer and use it as a module.

I remember this groovebox from the late 90's when it came out. I think it would still be a great instrument to use 20 years on (can't believe it's really been that long)

Very cool! Thanks for the simple yet wonderful music. I have no experience with 505 and want to ask a couple questions. Did you, if not a preset pattern, write a sequence or arp pattern which you built the song around. If you did, how you did it? And, for example at 2:08, you transpose the pattern (or seq or arp). The change in key should only last 2 bars not 4. But not bad otherwise. I have loads of synths n soft synths n I still had the most fun with a roland mc307!
