Roland MC-707 Audio & Midi integration with Ableton Live

In my setup I have integrated every MC-707 channel through an external instrument on Ableton, so it allows me to exchange MIDI between devices and, if necessary, record the audio of my 707 and capture entire projects to make them bigger on Ableton.

@@camidelaigua cool! I was looking at those and even sent the shop an email but no answer so far. It is weird that on their webpage it says that the super knobs are compatible with mc101 and tr8. But no mention about mc707 or tr8s.

Il faut paramétrer (option/preferences/Linktempo & midi puis cocher les cases "piste" et "sync" dans outputs ports) Ableton live pour que live envoie les données midi à ta MC707. ensuite dans ta piste Live, il suffit de selectionner ta MC707 dans le "midi to" de ta piste et le canal midi de la piste de ta MC707 (ch 1 pour la piste 1 etc.)

What kind of trouble? Are you routing tr-8s audio through MC-707?

@@pacificundergrounds9207 you've to put the same tr-8s midi channel number on 707 track and select the 707 AUDIO IN sound source option on the 707 track

⁠@@camidelaigua I created 11 midi channels for the tr-8s and grouped them. Also, I created 8 midi channels for my 707 which I also grouped. I am able to send midi notes to each individual tracks on for each different device. As audio input device I have the TR-8S and as output device the MC-707. On the ext. inst I assigned tracks 3 to 11 and midi channel 10 to the tr8s. On the ext inst section of the mc-707 I assigned stereo 3/4 - 13/14 to the individual tracks with midi channel 1 to 8. The problem is that in this way I do receive midi signal on each tracks but I am having trouble with the “audio from” section which does not get any signal. My mast out has stereo 3/4 I hope you recognize the problem. Thanks for your help so far :)

I've created an external instrument for each 707 track on Ableton (midi tracks 1 to 8), on MIDI preferences you have to activate both MIDI/SYNC IN & OUT, now you can create a midi clip on ableton and record it with your 707 or the inverse mode, play notes with your 707 and save them on ableton☺️☺️
