I remember when people were selling this amazing synth for only 50 dollars in LA. I actually turned down an offer to buy one at that price. and spent 1800 + interest on D550 which had MKS70 in it + realistic partials. I owned mks70 for a short while and sold it for around 100 or so. man o man but then again i was stupid enough to sell Jupiter 8 for only 1200....
@daddyzhoam3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what they told you at the store but the D550 does not in any way, shape or form have an MKS-70 in it. The MKS70 is an entirely analog synth, the D550 is entirely digital.

@@daddyzhoam MKS-70 was not analog it was DCO the endless useless debate and D550 had all the parameters to duplicate MKS-70 sounds exact being a DCO + sample synth, granted not as warm in some cases. I still own my Original MKS-80 from the 80's and controller, which is pure analog. MKS-70 not analog. Digital Control hence DCO and not VCA Voltage Control.

@@electrowayne2918 not only 1200, like a moron but it originally belonged to Yes band I bought it from Tony Kaye along with original MIDI controller, I forget what it was callled. and all the cassette programs. he was moving back to England and was selling all his equipment in LA and all the synths were lined up against the walls. I was drooling like a kid in a candy store. Ahh sweet memories

Great programming effort with funky/italo style which shows of what is this synth capable in right hands. If you had to choose between ESQ-1 or MKS70/jx10 sound which would it be?
@NachoMartyMeyer6 жыл бұрын
I'm very glad that you liked the video, the potential of this synthesizer obviously will be + the higher using some FX, EQ, Compressor, etc. but the purpose is to show the RAW sound, your question is very difficult to answer, I love both synthesizers, each one has its characteristic sound, I could not choose one right now, maybe yes, but at this moment I can not choose one, both are so beautiful
@Sonikbytes6 жыл бұрын
that is why I am asking you this :) because I have both synths and heard both your demos are these some of top notch programming. Any tricks to overcome slower attack envelope on MKS70? Have you using the reverse filter envelope 'trick' yet to get some snappier sounds?
@NachoMartyMeyer6 жыл бұрын
Sonikbytes cool, I don't have a PG-800 or another programmer, I use an very old software to program in real time, very cool software, I think that does not have name, and don't remember what I do exactly, I'm sorry for my bad English lol

Absolutely amazing!!! Can you share how you constructed the patch at 15:07?

hi Neil, i'm sorry but I don't remember how it was done, I did it using a software editor, but I haven't saved the patches

What better MKS-70 or Matrix-1000 ? They are very similar by character... but what ultimately sounds better in a mix?
@psprojectbrazil5 жыл бұрын
MKS-70, definitely.

@@psprojectbrazil I choose between these synthesizers .. can you tell why MKS-70 is the best for you?
@jimmididr5 жыл бұрын
I had a Matrix 6 back in the day, and still have an MKS70... I would say that the MKS is better for thicker creamier textures while the Matrix may cut through more with it's sizzle.
@NachoMartyMeyer2 жыл бұрын
difficult choice, maybe more comparable with the Matrix 6R, which can be edited from the module like the MKS-70, both are beautiful, the MKS-70 maybe sounds a bit dirtier, older, I don't know how to describe it, but both are wonderful

This is such a great synth, but sad that you cannot tune this machine down to 432hz.. only I believe 437hz? if I'm not mistaken.
