The full line, "witness the birth of a nation, the pigs came around and they saved your bacon" contains multiple references to the oppression of black Americans. Witness is a famous book about the white power terrorist organization the KKK, and Birth of a Nation is a famous film in which the KKK are actually the good guys. Racism was a particular problem in police work as well, which is why in the 1960s the pro black rights grassroots political organization the Black Panthers started spreading the term "pig" as a slang term for dirty racist cops.

@@thecianinator After listening to this for a while, I was getting the feeling this song was a reference to corruption and social unrest in America. I didn't know that there were literal books with the same names used in the song. Very interesting. . .

Sounds a little bit like Roland was dabbling with grunge music. This is about the time grunge came out..

this album was released in 2001. grunge was more 90s. it does sound grungy though.
