How long does it takes to make a sequence on the Roland S-1, that can be actually used in a track, when you just keep recording without having a theme in mind?

It’s the most little capable box of 2023. Best product. Usually my choice is in line with top of line analog synths or others. But I tell you….this little machine is greatest…. Sequencer, arp, reverb, delay, motion, etc. I stick a Bluetooth transmitter to the output and wirelessly walk around my house crafting melodies and sound designs over Bluetooth speakers. Incredible quality. Great vco filters and env. Didn’t see you play with the LFO, Draw, and Chop options which takes it to other level. you missing out.

Bluetooth has come a long way since the last time I bought a BT device... I can't believe the latency and connection is that good! I'm interested what adapter you're using - I'd be interested in giving your 'workflow' a try!

I just got mine, and I wanted something more than just the 16 tones built in the patterns. I wasn't really digging the sound I was trying to create. This video definitely shows that you can create patches from scratch, though. Nice job

Hello Alba. Can you accidentally load the patches from System 1 onto the S-1 or the presets? Momo Müller has an S-1 editor with over 90 patches. Unfortunately, I can't manage to load these patches into the S-1. Can you please make a video about it?

I had that synth recently. Exactly super compact and has extreme capablity compared to its tiny dimensions. BUT the user interface is TOO complicated. I am still struggling to solve how to make my own sequence.

You either save the modifications you made, or reload the pattern (p. 48 User Manual - Reloading a pattern).

Will Roland fix the product defect of the S-1 having no MIDI Volume (CC07)? That controller has been in Roland products for 40 years. Why did Roland mess this up? All they need to do is fix this problem in a firmware update. What a shame they ruined such a fine product with this major oversight. Nice video, though. I ordered an S-1 and it arrived yesterday, but it was defective, so I had to return it. Roland? Are you okay? What's wrong with you?

@@apanebia The S-1 having no MIDI Volume (CC07). If you get into using MIDI, you will quickly learn what this means. It's Rolan'ds way of turning a fine synth into a cute toy.

@@nicodemuspapadopoulos4708 sure i use midi. but the lack of cc#7 midi is not a defect, it's a lack (annoying) of a function. as you said it seemed like your s-1 had real hardware/software defectives.

very dynamic sequencer performance 👍 ... is it possible to perform sequencer ratcheting on the S1 without programming the sub-steps, or did i miss to watch correctly what you did?

Ratcheting is possible when you set the note lenght at a higher value (32t) for example and slow down the tempo so you can hear the 2-3-4 notes consecutivelly playing.
