From sounding like a tb303 to a tr909 to a sh101 and on and on. This synth is destined to be a classic. Really sounds amazing.

Agreed. The thing with it is I’ve been back and forth with the System-1 & System-8. They share an architecture but the mixer section behaves quite differently. The System-1 clips the waves resulting in a more aggressive sound. The System-8 is optimised for a smoother analog poly sound. Different strokes and all that. Thanks for listening!

@@Soundsauca Are the presets for System-1 compatible with System-8 at all? Been searching a bit for an answer, but no clear answer yet.
@Soundsauca4 жыл бұрын
@@SSGO1138 Hi there. Unfortunately not, they are 2 separate synths, albeit sharing a similar (but not identical) DNA. I have begun translating this bank to the System-8 but it's not ready yet. The reason is there are some differences in the sound that I wasn't happy with. I'll keep you posted though!

I guess System-1 is a great midi controller for the System-8 Cloud VST, yes?

It’s a bass monster man. Seriously, one day people might realise. But for now it has something on the S-8 for harder sounds. Tnx m8 👍

Hey man. Nice base sounds. Do they also work on the Modul Version (Roland System 1m)?
@Soundsauca5 ай бұрын
Yes! They work with the 1m. Thanks.

These basses sound great! I've just ordered a System 1 after deliberating for years - can't wait for it to arrive. Is it easy load / save the patches - is there an online library/editor to store them?
@Soundsauca3 жыл бұрын
System-1 is majorly underrated for bass. Pushing the oscillator level into the mixer saturates nicely. Loading could be easier - it's a bit of a faff with a few button combinations to mount the S-1 on the computer via USB. It can be done though. The other option is Roland Cloud: www.rolandcloud.com This makes things easier but may not be for you as its extra money. You can build libraries easily then. The sound IMO is worth it though. Hope this helps!

@@Soundsauca thanks - yes Roland Cloud is the original reason I looked into getting one - apart from being a great synth I guess it’s integration as a controller for synths like the SH-2 is going to be pretty slick…. I was really hesitant regards Cloud but I have to say it’s brilliant
@Soundsauca3 жыл бұрын
It's a great controller. The UI is perfect for that classic subtractive synth layout. Build quality is OK. Knobs/sliders are fine. Keys are...well...not great but that doesn't bother me. Roland Cloud is very good. I've bought a few lifetime keys for my favourites and the whole package is pretty reasonable for what you get access to. Hope you enjoy;)

Was the SH-101 the only plug out VST made for the System-1 ??? Roland said they were going to come out with a lot of them for this synth but a web search comes up pretty empty. They seem to have self-defeated the entire purpose of it.
@Soundsauca3 жыл бұрын
No there’s the SH-2, Promars, System-100 & the 101. I’ve made a few sounds on each of these but haven’t ever “dug deep” like my other sound banks. Maybe one day as they’re all very good 😌
@oldowl42903 жыл бұрын
@@Soundsauca Thx for the reply. I've been thinking of getting the Sys1 but couldn't find that info anywhere and I looked at a lot of websites, Roland being the first. I think they've done a really bad job of selling this synth by touting the plug-outs but not providing easy info on what and where to get them. How much does each one of those VSTs/plug outs cost and what software is necessary to install them in the Sys1? If I get one I'm definitely buying your presets (which I assume is for the stock synth only?).
@Soundsauca3 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Roland initially sold the plugin/plugouts separately on the now defunct Content Store. At the time I bought most of them. Then Roland stopped doing that and brought it all together in the Roland Cloud. You can subscribe to the cloud and gain access to them. I also believe you can buy a “lifetime license”. I’m not sure of the price as I bought most years ago but my guess is around 100-149 dollars/pounds/euros etc. My advice would be to take a look at Roland Cloud and see if there’s a demo period to see if you like it. Yes all these sounds are for the stock System-1 so no need for the others. Hope this helps!

Just an update for anyone looking in the future. Thanks to Tricell we confirmed they do indeed work on the System 1m. There are some caveats. No arpeggiator means that some sounds will play slightly differently. Hope this helps!
