Stan's looking great out there. Needs to get his fitness back to where it was. Backhand is still absolutely amazing, but it almost feels like he's using it to set up for an ending shot that he doesn't have. Would have won this match had Moutet not started playing like a video game character after the first set. Lol. Great job to him.

I'm mad because Moutet actually played well. He deserved the win, even though he may have had the court advantage with the crowd behind him. Stan played very well too, but he just didn't do so consistently enough. He needs to get back in shape. he's looking a bit heavy. I wish him a quick comeback cause I really like his playstyle and his personality overall.

Stan is a load of cack now, I'm very disappointed to see him get humiliated like this, Roger should have been playing here, he would have done much better- even if he didn't win this tournament, he could use it as prep for Wimbledon, like last year. Mmmm, not sure Maggie, Moutet is a very tricky opponent, played RG 2020 beautifully where he eliminated in 5 sets an able Stan Wawrinka and almost beat Thiem -played 5 sets and made Thiem run for dropshots like crazy, Thiem next match lost because he did not recover. Thiem was in good shape then, so a very tricky opponent on clay, particularly if you are having physical issues (and Nadal does have big ones). Tough test!

Yes he is french, and that does heavily favour him, but the fans do nothing wrong in cheering on their countrymen, the issue is when the opponents get booed (which didnt happen here). in the last few years, players are playing exactly how they should to be effective which is DROPSHOT ANYTHING YOU CAN THAT IS A NEUTRAL BALL OR LESS, it fakes players out whether you go for a big forehand or drop shot players are understanding making a player run 40 feet diagonal is much more effective than hitting a forehand whose one bounce covers 10s of feet and goes past the baseline where the player runs at max 20 feet to reach it
