thank you mam for a detailed analysis of about ADL. my doubt is in Maharashtra did the CM face "No Confidence Motion" from its the ruling party members which led the 2/3rd of MLA to join BJP, leaving NCP and Shivsena behind ?? earlier the ruling party was the merger of shivsena and NCP, but it is seen that NCP is totally left behind, but the new CM still holds the shivsena position. how can the two rivals be there from a same political party demanding for the the post of CM. this seems to be confusing me. kindly help me with it. thanks

Eknath Shinde has formed a government with the support of the BJP and has passed the floor test required to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra possessing the required number of MLAs. The Shiv Sena MLAs have given their support to Eknath Shinde instead of Uddhav Thackeray. Originally, the decision of the presiding officer was final and could not be questioned in any court. However, in the 1992 Kihoto Hollohan case, it held that the presiding officer, while deciding a question under the Tenth Schedule, functions as a tribunal. Hence, his decision, like that of any other tribunal, is subject to judicial review on the grounds of mala fides, perversity, etc. The final deciding authority remains the Presiding Officer on the grounds of mala fides, perversity, etc, it is subject to judicial review. What is the startegy of cracking the prelims?

Hi Mamidala Saikrishna! Even though there is no set strategy for this exam as every aspirant has a different study pattern, still we have tried to list a few methods/practices, after doing an extensive research, which can help you prepare for UPSC Preliminary exam. Read further to know about these methods: 1. Build up your basic knowledge from NCERTs (6-10). 2. Read standard textbooks (ex. Laxmikant for Polity, Bipan Chandra for Modern India etc). 3. Start following current affairs thoroughly and try to link current events with the static portion of the syllabus (For example if a particular article is in news then you can read the relevant portion from Laxmikant) 4. Analyse the question paper thoroughly once you have scored the paper with the help of the answer key and try to identify why you marked incorrectly viz lack of knowledge, silly mistake, blind guessing etc 5. Keep practising and fine-tuning your strategy for tests. 6. There is no standard rule for how many questions should be attempted as it will also depend on your preparation level. In our opinion, one should attempt more number of questions provided one has prepared well otherwise you will get a lot of negative marks. Hope this helps you! Best wishes!
